AIBU to expect new landlord to provide keys for the locks on the windows, particularly upstairs? They're currently permanantly unlocked.

Concerned about child safety. Windows are in easy reach, are easily open-able and easily fallout-able children are young and generally well behaved, but...

Of course he needs to provide keys. For one thing it is usually in your insurance details that windows should be locked when you are away so if there were to be a break in you may not be covered (and indeed he may not be covered for damage to the property)

Yikes, none of my windows have locks on them!

Indith · 01/04/2010 19:09

maduggar don't panic! What I meant was that wondows which have locked should be locked. Same as doors basically all modes of locking and protection that are fitted should be being used if you are away from the house.

If you know the make of the windows, you will probably be able to buy some keys off ebay.
