Christ, I am sooo bored with making comforting noises to peopel who think I want excruciationg detail about their sleeping/sniffing/vomitting/medication patterns.

I don't fucking care! Not one jot.

I have also resolved never to speak of health issues, even if my left leg is dropping off.

Take note please.

Has anyone mentioned man flu yet, that is the bain of my life, they reckon they are half dead. I didnt think us fems were allowed to be ill

Hope you are OK Herbietea.

The problem is there are always going to be those who whinge about every little thing and make like they're dying, but actually have nothing wrong, and there are those who are really ill and perhaps need to get it out.

However, I have to say that as someone with chronic illness the first group do really annoy me. I feel like shouting in their faces 'do you want to know what it is like to be really ill?' but of course keep quiet. I have my disease support online forum to get all the ins and outs ermmm....out. I certainly wouldn't start describing it all in great detail to those without the disease. It would be most inappropriate.

But I would still say YABU, op. Because there are always going to be those who are really ill and need to talk. Because it can be a heck of a lonely place.

Of course they don't Riven, because that's different. I've never seen you post about having a sore throat, or a sniffle, or a bit of indigestion. (and I imagine, if you have one, your Facebook page isn't a list of minor twinges that could be cured easily with a strepsil) Those are the things I think Moondog (and certainly me) are talking about. People who seem to actively enjoy illness.

Hope dd is picking up btw.

I knew a woman on another message board who posted loads about her husband having "man-flu"..the other women were all laughing at him and calling him a whinger and wimp etc...and he then died of pneumonia!!
