I took ds to ballet lessons when he was younger but sadly he wasn't interested. Still got time though.

Scotia · 20/03/2010 20:55

Cornsilk, my exh bought it for me for Christmas the year before he left me - six months before I found out he was gay! Then he had the cheek to ask for it back

I can't believe I've just realised the captain on the Titanic is Yosser Hughes!!

Wanderingsheep · 20/03/2010 20:58

I loved Titanic! Probably more to do with my lust for Mr. DiCaprio though than the film itself.

In my defense, I was 14 when the film came out!

Tortington · 20/03/2010 20:59

jeez scotia - did you have kids?

cornsilk · 20/03/2010 20:59

Scotia - he asked for it back! cheeky fecker!

Tortington · 20/03/2010 21:00

dya like him now?

SawneyBeane · 20/03/2010 21:00

If I was stuck on a ship with Kate and Leo, I would want it to sink.
In fact I would be down in the bowels hammering on the hull with a stick to speed it up a bit.

juneybean · 20/03/2010 21:01

Who is Yosser Hughes?

Captain is played by Bernard Hill

cornsilk · 20/03/2010 21:02
Grin
cornsilk · 20/03/2010 21:03

Imagine if Benny Hill was the captain. They could have done one of those fast forward chases round the ship to the Benny Hill music.

Wanderingsheep · 20/03/2010 21:10

I quite like Leonardo DiCaprio as an actor but he's not aging all that well.

RockbirdisdrinkingGuinness · 20/03/2010 21:11

God, I feel old knowing who Yosser is Oh God, I'm crossing the Atlantic on a liner in the summer, I really don't want to be watching this! When we got back home after the last one I flaked out in bed with jet lag. Turned on the tv in time to see A Night to Remember. My holiday photos gave me the heebees for weeks after that!

MiladyDeWinter · 20/03/2010 21:12

I wish I knew about Yosser Hughes but alas I wasn't allowed to watch that programme. My DH was though despite being the same age! AND that Chris Tarrant thing - OTT was it?

And I wasn't even middle class as a child!

juneybean · 20/03/2010 21:14

I'm far too young me thinks, I'm only 24

Wanderingsheep · 20/03/2010 21:17

Me too Juneybean . Well I'm 26 not 24.

RockbirdisdrinkingGuinness · 20/03/2010 21:18

I was too young to watch it but my parents did. Was aware of it and have seen it since. All that giss a job business which I assumed was funny is really sad when you watch it as an adult.

MiladyDeWinter · 20/03/2010 21:19

24, juney, you could be in this feature film you know. And manage all the associated discomfort and 21 hour-days and all the PR bollocks.

Could you bear having to kiss a young Leonardo DiCaprio? That would be a hardship, true.

juneybean · 20/03/2010 21:24

Ooo sorry I meant the Yosser Hughes thing!! I had no idea who he was haha

MiladyDeWinter · 20/03/2010 21:27

No offence I was just saying that at your age you would have the necessary strength and stamina to do the wading through freezing water and snogging a young Leo is all.

JaneS · 20/03/2010 21:30

I'm sorry, I tried, but I got as far as cornsilk saying 'Even Leonardo looks like a shit actor in Titanic. That's how bad Titanic is.'

And I gave up. even Leonardo? Come on, a boiled sweet could act him off the set! She's the only thing that made half of it worth bothering with.

BitOfFun · 20/03/2010 21:38

Leonardo started to go off after Titanic...this is the last movie he made before he got all bloated and baggy-eyed.

RockbirdisdrinkingGuinness · 20/03/2010 21:42

I never even addressed the point of this thread. The pair of them are shite. Oh God I can't watch anything with children crying in, it makes me sob. You'd think now that dd is 2 my hormones would have settled down

YanknCock · 20/03/2010 21:43

Gah...I remember seeing this in the cinema with my friend who was sobbing....

I was looking at my watch and thinking 'sink already, wouldja?'

Agree, acting is irrelevant. Dialogue is so crap there is no amount of acting that could help it.

RockbirdisdrinkingGuinness · 20/03/2010 21:44

Is it normal to watch something like this, see a child that looks the same size as dd and start blubbing over how I'd feel if it was her? I'm going to turn this off, it's ridiculous

MiladyDeWinter · 20/03/2010 21:44
