because he has just been awarded the Military Cross?!

(awarded due to actions during his time in Afghanistan last year)

DH would do anything to change the circumstances which have led to this, but I know it means a lot to him.

Congratulations Mr Midori - I'm sure he'd much rather that he had never been in the situation to be awarded one, but am sure he showed bravery above and beyond to be awarded it.

MunchkinsMumof2 · 19/03/2010 09:53

Congratulatons Mr Midori! and how refreshing to have a thread praising a husband for a change

Lizzylou · 19/03/2010 09:56

Wow, no wonder you are proud, huge congratulations to MrMidori

Lovely of you to start a thread as well.

Karmann · 19/03/2010 09:58

Many, many congratulations to you both. Wonderful to be recognised and my thoughts are with those still out there.

dawntigga · 19/03/2010 09:59

What a fantastic recognition of what must be a difficult experience.

I'mRatherProudOfHimTiggaxx

mumutd · 19/03/2010 10:10

That is a huge honour and obviously very well deserved (I'm ex military).

You have every right to be extremely proud of him.

xx

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 19/03/2010 10:12

Gosh, how wonderful. I'm sorry he had to be in Afghanistan, but he's acquitted himself wonderfully, and you are a lucky woman Ms Midori.

OrmRenewed · 19/03/2010 10:14

Congratulations mrmidori!

You should be proud.

TottWriter · 19/03/2010 10:18

Congratulations should be passed on from all of us.

Earning a medal is something which requires bravery and determination - two qualities which are to be held in high esteem.

Though would your husband be pleased or embarrased to know he was getting so much praise from us lot on mumsnet? Maybe both?

Longtalljosie · 19/03/2010 10:18

How wonderful. I think we all should be proud of him

PollyTechnique · 19/03/2010 10:23

Respect.

YADNBU.

It's great to honour those who put their lives on the line. Well done, your DH.

ocdgirl · 19/03/2010 14:01

YABU to be 'ridiculously' proud. It is not ridiculous at all. Be VERY proud.

And be proud of you too. It must have been very scary to have him over there. Am very glad for you that he came back safe and sound.

FrumpyPumpy · 19/03/2010 14:06

Has brought a lump to my throat. 'Well done' doesn't seem enough. And YANBU!

thumbwitch · 19/03/2010 14:07

Of course YANBU! Congratulations to him.

Silver1 · 19/03/2010 14:11

YANBU to be ridiculously proud. Well done him
and I for one thank him for the job that he does!
