Brahms: you do know that when you have anorexia nervosa (if this is what it is) you don't have choices, right? You are addicted to not eating so have no more choice than a heroin addict has to saying yes or no to heroin? Yes, there is a choice, but it is really really really really really really hard to make the right choice and pretty much impossible to do so without some heavyweight, full-on, medicalised intervention.

I only brought in the "what men like" aspect as a pre-emptive strike. Sooner or later, someone would have got it in and claimed that it's all a result of these girls having to "look good", which is of course the Fault of the Nasty Big Stick-Wielding Patriachal Misogynists out there.

'Anorexia' is a very specific clinical diagnosis, you can't tell whether someone suffers from it just by looking at them. Being that thin is probably requisite for making a lot of money in LA.

brahms - blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - you spend so much time 'drawing attention' to your own plight I would have imagined after all the replies people have given you that you could see why people (particularly women who have young daughters) would be really concerned about this - this girl is wasting away and being as she is in a very very popular group loved by lots of little girls and young teens her plight does bear scrutiny.

anorexia yes is a specific diagnosis but she is looking very poorly and a shame no one can step in and help her

1] being very ill
2] having an eating disorder/being very ill.
3] living in a country that has food shortages.
