1/3/10 BBC 4 9pm 'Zimbabwe's forgotten children'

Has anyone been watching this documentary???

I am still crying after nearly an hour of watching the children of Zimbabwe suffer so much that they want to give up. Do you think Zimbabwe needs our help? I feel like setting up a charity for these children...but feel it definately isnt welcome while Mugabe is still in power...why is it that we can use so much of tax payers money to fund a war against the taliban, yet leave these people to die???

Please people am I being unreasonable?

Oh, I can imagine, Chelles!

Look at some of those deemed most beautiful: Christy Turlington, British/Columbian, Halle Barry, African-American/White Jewish-American, Heide Klum and Seal's chidren, my friend, Ty Strom-Johston, German-Jamaican, my aunt's boys, Mexican-American/Indian, etc.

People are beautiful!

Wow. Just watched that doc on catch-up. Staggeringly sad. Mugabe has so much to answer for.

Chellesgirl · 03/03/2010 22:13

sausage...too much, that he would never be able to answer it all!!!!!!

1.3 million children are orphans roaming around trying to survive.

It would be a real dream if america and uk would come together and do what they do in afghanistan over in zim. Its just so scary..cause china plays such a big part in zims day to day life that there would be world war three.

The programme makers have set up a charitable foundation for those that want to help the children featured directly. zimbabweschildren.org/
There are also links to other charities working in zimbabwe on their website.
Bit tricky as it's not just a question of money is it but I did think of those poor kids ( and particularly Esther and her baby sister) all day today , especially as I did an online shop. Not sure what else we can do....

Also read that Mugabe spent $100 000 on his recent 86th birthday party. Can this be true? Would be funny if it wasn't so obscene.

Chellesgirl · 05/03/2010 19:36

its true...and then China who are 'financially supporting' him paid for a $300,000 party over there. He seriously needs assasinating a good talking too
