To be angry that my MIL arrived at DS 3rd b'day with his presents wrapped in xmas paper!!!

She pitched up yesterday at my DS 3rd Birthday party (at one of those activity places) with all the other mums and kids, and presented me with her gifts wrapped in last yrs xmas paper! She never lets me down in showing how tight fisted she is....AIBU

I have to agree with TYV your first post was very strong. To use such words about what is after all a very trivial matter shows that there is more to this than just wrapping paper.
I feel very sorry for your MIL tbh. She has bought a present and wrapped it and even more has turned up at hellhole softplay to see her grandson and all you can do is get angry because of the paper she uses.

I have to agree with a couple of others. There are some seriously unpleasant comments on here now. But why post a simple YABU when you can be nasty?

People are being hypocrites because you are all saying she is bu which she is i agree,but name calling and nasty comments is bu also.There is just no need for it,even if she was coming back saying she was right.I doubt if someone was moaning about MIL in RL you would call them a loon etc....so why do it here.

my SIL and I have been giving each other a gift in the same recycled gift bag for about 5 years now - it started as a mistake but it's family folklore now and we've decided that whoever pegs it first gets their ashes put in it.

I love this thread - PMSL at ashes in the recycled gift bag.

I gave MIL a present in a gift bag I got from a friend for Xmas. She then gave it back to me 2 months later with something in. Then a week later I used it to put a framed pic of DS in to give to DH's Granny.... then at Easter Sunday lunch she gave the bag back to me with DS's Easter egg in!

I wrapped ds's presents in Xmas paper last week, as I'd forgotton to get any birthday wrap. Saved me a fortune- he's 11- didn't even notice.
I've been known to wrap his friends' presents in brown paper and stick on football headlines from the paper.
Am I a crap mother OP?
