Would it be unreasonable to ask the to push off?

Stood in a queue for the bus, person stood in front lights up a cigarette, as does his mate. Wind blowing in my direction where I'm stood with pushchair and pre-schooler inhaling all their toxic fumes. I can't leave the queue because I will loose my place (pushchair places are limited and on a first come first serve basis), so I reposition the pushchair and try to move DS1 as out of the way as poss.

Would it have been unreasonable for me to ask them to stop/move? I didn't say anything at the time because I didn't feel I had a right to, but on second thoughts, maybe I did?

YANBU, i think smoking should be banned in all public places - in and out - its vile and it makes me feel sick, especially when they first light up. If you changed your baby's nappy at the b-stop people would tut and be outraged, but you breathe carcinogenic smoke into children's faces and thats ok?

Smoking is the filthiest, vilest most revolting selfish habit on the planet, i dont understand why people do it, it smells awful, i can only but imagine how it tastes -

'YABU - sorry. It is a bit inconsiderate of them not to notice the children, but it's not illegal and if you find it that offensive you should move, and if that means losing your place in the bus queue then so be it. A few seconds of smoke won't hurt anyone. '

Not true missboots. If you have an underlying lung condition a 'few seconds of smoke' can hurt you very badly indeed.
However I don't go with all this 'all smokers are filthy selfish bastards' thing. You just can't generalise in that way. Smokers are just like everyone else - some selfish, some considerate.
But I'm not going to get sucked into this thread.....aaaaghhh.....

yummyyummyyummy - If I'd have given up my place then it would've been highly likely that I wouldn't have got on the bus (as I said in my OP pushchair places are limited and on a first come first serve basis). If they had've stepped aside whilst they smoked I would've gladly let them take their original place in the queue.
