To worry that my dp left for the shop two hours ago and he is not home yet.

Shop is a ten minute drive away, he had a list with about ten items on and he is not one to hang around.

I am feeling a bit sick with worry.

He has not taken his mobile.

YANBU - It's rather late to be out shopping. What shop did he go to? If it is a small local shop then could you ring them up?

Hope he gets home soon (with a very good explanation!)

GoddessInTheKitchen · 20/02/2010 22:02

once, my mum went to the post office and someone tried to rob it and the police came and wouldn't let anyone leave for an hour and a half

heQet · 20/02/2010 22:02

The shop will have been closed or they won't have had something on the list. So he'll have gone to a different shop.

Mine does that all the time.

violethill · 20/02/2010 22:02

Phew big sigh of relief for you.

Now shout at him!

GoddessInTheKitchen · 20/02/2010 22:02

Oh thank goodness for that!

toddlerama · 20/02/2010 22:03

I did once ring the police in a similar situation (except I hadn't listened properly and DH actually had mentioned he would be away a while...) and he still winds me up about it! Hopefully everything will be fine, but call local police and put a search on his licence plate. You'll know then if he's been in an accident.

YanknCock · 20/02/2010 22:03

Yay, glad he is home! I sense a telling-off coming.....

ChunkyPickle · 20/02/2010 22:03

If it was mine, I'd be expecting him to huff and puff in the door any moment, laden with bags, having bought at least two of everything on the list, and a load of other stuff that seemed a good idea at the time.

Once he went out for milk and deodorant, an hour later I had a desperate call from him asking me to come and meet him halfway as he'd bought too much and couldn't carry it all home...

Another time he got overwhelmed in the middle of the supermarket where he'd gone with no list, and called me to calm him down and help him figure out what to buy.

He's perfectly normal in most ways, but turns in to a flustered mess in supermarkets!

ChippingIn · 20/02/2010 22:24

I was going to say 'all's well that ends well' but it rather depends if we need to go around and clean the blood off the walls now that he is home!!

wastwinsetandpearls · 20/02/2010 22:32

Her did stagger in laden down with bags huffing and puffing. Apparantly puff pastry and spring onions were the cause of the hold up. He also has bought the whole world an easter egg.

I have not shouted, I am now making apple puffs for tomorrow.
