thesecondcoming - LOL - sometimes you need to see it written down to realise you're actually doing OK

Im 32 and I just had tomato soup with a cheese sandwich for my supper and I feel satisfied - would your friend be concerned for my health too?

I echo what Dixie just said, my nearly 3.5yr old DD is at nursery 2 days a week and their 'tea' is always lighter. they had Tomato soup with homemade bread today, with fruit for dessert. She had a cooked lunch of lasange with peach cobbler for pudding at midday. Plus they have a snack at 10pm and one at 2.30ish.
She did have an apple and a few breadsticks at home later because shes a pig at the moment!

I reckon your DD is eating very well, does your friend have food issues? I'm not sure I would ever comment on what one of my friends DC's had for tea etc as I know what difficulties some people have getting kids to eat anything at all.

heavens, we have soup at least two or three times a week, it never ocurred to me that this isn't a sufficient meal. i usually have it for lunch too!

Tomato soup much healthier than a burger or such.
Where I come from, lunch is a main meal, and supper is a no fuss affair.
Your dd had veggies+carbs/grains+dairy/calcium from the yoghurt= perfect meal.

In my humble Papa's opinion a good bowl of soup with bread and butter is a meal in itself! Was telling my gran about this thread as she is of the main meal at lunch/light tea generation, apparently he said this to my gran after a day working down the pits and he came home to a big bowl of homemade soup and my gran worrying about what he would have after. This has stuck in our family so when I was growing up and now with my own DCs a bowl of soup with bread IS a meal and can be a very healthy/nutritious meal - amazing way to sneak veg in!

You can also tell her that mainy dieticians/nutritionists and personal trainers advise you eat a large breakfast/lunch and a lighter tea as this is better for your metabolism and a more natural way to eat.
Cheeky mare to comment at all
