I know I am not unreasonable, I know I am NOT.

alternatively you can come there anyway and do a special dance, as my bed looks at the entrance to A&E.

Have they decided what you have yet then? [Nosy]

LilyLovesSid · 04/02/2010 13:08

Oh I'd love to come and entertain you psychomum, I work at RBH (when I'm not on ML), but I'm trapped with the kids and no car! Dammit!

Hmm, let me think.

If you see anyone wandering around in a green uniform (from pharmacy) have a quick look at their nametag. Let me know who is looking after you, I'll tell you some really funny and embarassing facts about them, then you can laugh at them and they'll never know why!!!

LilyLovesSid · 04/02/2010 13:09

Also yay for the drugs - take anything they'll give you! If you have to put up with being in hospital you might as well get trolleyed!

moodlum · 04/02/2010 13:10

that would help me get over my stressful morning

Also (again!) have they said anything about what ward you'll be going to? It would suck to have to stay on AAU for ages (noisy bloody place!). When is your MRI?

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 04/02/2010 13:15

I'm in Derby so am a little far from you. You can email me though, tis jouelsie at fsmail dot net. I'm either on here or on facebook, if you need a perk up chat then I'm your woman.

Diazepam's wicked stuff. Try some entenox first though if you can get it. Codeine's also good for spacing you out. I'd go through the BNF for you but I'm trapped in the cess pit they call uni so don't have it with me. Go for codiene, tell them you are in pain. It's addictive though so don't ask alot.

I was told that MS patients can smoke weed for the nerve problems, I have an appointment in March to get some amphetamines so I don't feel as knackered.

(disclaimer) fluffy doesn't take drugs, nor advocates the usage of them.

psychomum5 · 04/02/2010 13:17

lilylovessid......that is a plan I LIKE.

cptnancy, nope, not yet......MRI at 3pm, then neuro doc, then maybe a DX..

They can do a lumbar puncture to confirm some diagnosis, tell them to sod off, mine hurt like hell, bloody doctor, I was sooo tempted to shout at him to just get on with it, he kept asking if it hurt. I know they care and all that but bloody hell, I looked like a pin cushion. No one warned me about the two week headache afterwards, got some fab painkillers off the GP though

(I'm not addicted)

psychomum5 · 04/02/2010 13:22

belle, I just heard that little snippet from the nice lady#1 opp me (yet to be moved)...her DD has MS and was told the same. shame really I am so anti, and hate the thought of any and all smoking really, or I would probably have been manically at that news

have been on codeine already this week for the lumber puncture pain, and yes, spaces me, but also has been having bad effects on my poor bowel

however, I am happy with the offer........I did ask for gas and air......they said no.....they need me still, and am guessing G&A doesn;t encourage that??

might emial later BTW

Hmmm, wonder if I can get away with paging pharmacy to AAU! They wouldn't answer anyway (lazy buggers having a lunchbreak - how very dare they!!)

psychomum5 · 04/02/2010 13:24

lots of xposting...sorry

lily, no idea on ward yet....waiting for some type of DX. I think I am a confusion as yet, so I am entertainning them here instead

trollyed, like that term

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 04/02/2010 13:27

Email any time I check it once in a while, I'm on facebook alot (beats learning about anatomy). Get the DH to bring you in some ripe pears for the bowel, being in bed doesn't help either, the poop just settles, it needs a little gravity IYSWIM.

I've not resorted to smoking green stuff, I don't even take the painkillers, it's ignorable most of the time, I recon I'm too busy.

elastamum · 04/02/2010 13:32

Hi Psychomum, know bournmouth hosp well, bit to far to wave though as am alsonin Derby

Scuse the hijack but fluffy, are you doing the postgrad medical course at Derby? I wanted to do that but my ex left us so I went back to work instead

MrsToffeeCrisp · 04/02/2010 13:33

YANBU.

You don't know me but I've been following your threads and started to feel like a stalker! Just wanted to say I hope you get a DX soon and can start to feel better. You're being so brave x

LilyLovesSid · 04/02/2010 13:35

Ah, you are one of those patients are you! The wonderful world of the medical mystery!! I hope they can come up with something soon for you - all the waiting and tests must suck

Putting on sensible HCP hat for a second, what pain relief are you taking? If codeine is playing havoc with certain bodily functions there are plenty of alternatives.

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 04/02/2010 13:42

Hi elastan. No, it's on my list of things to do I'm learning how to take x-rays at the moment and how to use a MRI/CT. You can still do the course, you get funding for childcare.

psychomum5 · 04/02/2010 13:48

am on tramadol 50mg mainly......when and if I ask now, altho not more than 300mg in the whole day the doc said.

am allowed codiene when really hurting, so did last night.

elastamum and toffeecrisp, thankyou, and stalk away

I am the eternal attention seeker anyway, this is fab (well, not actually, am hating it, but lets have a silver lining......)

actually, my lining is silver/purple/pink/blue sparkly

Bake it into a (non-dairy) brownie?

What's the AAU ward for? Do we have to injure ourselves in specific ways?

TrillianAstra · 04/02/2010 14:14

Oh see now you don't want entertainment!

LilyLovesSid · 04/02/2010 14:54

Well there's your problem lady! Tramadol with a codeine chaser - there's a cocktail just waiting to bung you up!

Hmm, I'm itching to come and have a shufty at your medicine chart now! But then I am a nosey cow

Any sign of the green coats yet?

whoops · 04/02/2010 15:13

Psycho,

I'm a bit far to travel to Bournemouth at the moment but if you end up in Southampton (hopefully not for you though) I would happily pop over! I am sure I can manage to fall off another chair (yes I have a rather colourful bruise to prove it )
