I want him to be my gay boyfriend. That lady just made me cry when she talked about her children

I am being a bit of a twat?

Harsh, no?

There was an article saying he was really rude and abusive to the models (not the subjects) who pranced about semi naked. Could be true. I saw him in Brighton with his boyfriend twice and I wanted to go and say hello was am far too shy cool.

that minging underwear they make them parade in at the start of the show...where the fuck do they get that from ?

tbh, some styling and make-up advice is all these ladies need, they don't need to show us their arse to make them more "confident"

it is staged, artificial and really does women no damn good at all

I don't see blokes doing it

Cyb · 02/02/2010 20:37

Altho, at least Gok isn;t advocating nose jobs and bridge work (10 years younger , and the show to end all shows THE SWAN)

pointydog · 02/02/2010 20:39

I find the whole show a bit anti-women

AnyFucker · 02/02/2010 20:41

I hate those shows too, cyb

Cyb · 02/02/2010 20:45

The Swan made me drop my jaw to the floor. Women with extreme self esteem issues getting chopped up and stitched and boob jobbed. Awful

TiggyR · 02/02/2010 20:59

I don't really watch it and I do have a bit of an issue with the poor women being encouraged to bare the bodies they detest in order to feel liberated and good about themselves. I prefer a decent pair of spanx and a well cut dress every time, personally. Gok's method would be enough to put me in therapy for the rest of my life. But...I do really like Gok. in fact, I even fancy him a bit. Very strange I know, he's as camp as a row of tents, but he's also strangely blokeish and attractive. I know, I know, I don't understand it either......

Mumcentreplus · 02/02/2010 21:05

Fucking hell I'm sooo glad other women find this stuff cack...it irritates the bejesus out of me...although its car crash t.v ..I start watching and want to see the end result..ie eyebrows on forehead and boobs that could quite happily take an eye out at 50 paces...its like free advertising for plastic surgery..ffs..whats scary is when the person totally does not look anything like themselves??..how fucked up is that?...poor OH always looks like a deer in head-lights ..you can just see his poor mind thinking 'who the hell is this woman?'..

AnyFucker · 02/02/2010 21:06

blokeish ?

err, no

bitchy, yes

Mumcentreplus · 02/02/2010 21:07

and I find GOK very annoying (maybe thats because I'm not a fag-hag?)

Mumcentreplus · 02/02/2010 21:11

Ha! AF too right!..Blokeish my arse!

sungirltan · 02/02/2010 21:13

i love gok he's great. he's such an antidote to those 'you look like shit you need plastic surgery and your teeth ripped out or total strangers will tell you look old' if you wanna bash makeover programmes start with them.

Mumcentreplus · 02/02/2010 21:17

I agree the plastic ones are worse..but I still find GOK 'jarring'..

TiggyR · 02/02/2010 21:21

But what I mean by blokeish is that he manages to come across as someone who really finds women sexy, even though he's clearly gay. I know, it's odd!

AnyFucker · 02/02/2010 21:21

we did bash the others sungirltan

we just started with his

Mumcentreplus · 02/02/2010 21:26

Yes Tigs...thats odd..

TheSmallClanger · 02/02/2010 21:27

I didn't watch tonight. I saw bits of one series quite a while back, and wasn't really impressed.
Gok has found a clever niche in the market for himself, in that he's not a "god you really are hideous aren't you?" Nicki Hambleton-Jones harridan, but the style he promotes on his show is still the same boring shiny, high-maintenance look.
The underwear thing is completely irrelevant as well. What's the point of having a great new wardrobe if you're going to be parading around in your undies?

sungirltan · 02/02/2010 21:27

oh ok - can never be arsed to read thw whole thred no offense like

MadameDefarge · 02/02/2010 21:29

ah, yah bunch of old cynics! Yes, its just made for good TV blah blah, but I also found it very moving. And cried like a drag queen bereft of some good sequins....

AnyFucker · 02/02/2010 21:29

lol sungirltan...have you ever really put your foot in it then, if you never read the whole thread ?

Mumcentreplus · 02/02/2010 21:42
MadameDefarge · 02/02/2010 21:47

tsk tsk, MCP, Topshop missies cry when they see me heave into sight by the sequinned hotpants....

LadyBlaBlah · 02/02/2010 21:47

YABU The guy is a dick

Irony of all irony exploiting using a blind woman

JaneS · 02/02/2010 21:48

I can't help feeling he gets away with stuff he would never dare to say if he were straight. I kind of like the idea of the show and Lord knows he's better than TrinnyTranny, but I don't hugely love the idea that if only all ladies wore steel girder underwear and got their kit off more often, they'd be happy. Just a teeny weeny bit of objectification there, no?
