Yes, but perhaps Jesus would park in the M&T parking spaces in Sainsbos if it was pissing down because M&T spaces are a privilege, not a right.

Or perhaps he would get his old man so say 'smite ye, parking spaces of war' and the whole damn charade will be over and done with.

GetOrfMoiLand · 18/01/2010 13:44

lol at hbfac's proustian sentiments.

MmeLindt · 18/01/2010 13:45

See, now we have a problem as you lot are attempting to ban half of MN.

MILs must be at least 30% of MN.

Do statistics exist on this?

EleanoraBuntingCupcake · 18/01/2010 13:46

yes softplay is alot like venice - it smells of sewage and everyone is very rude.

TigerFeet · 18/01/2010 13:46

hehe

come and commiserate with me over appalling treatment of pfb dd1 at hands of mini thug at soft play

go on i dare you

although to be fair i did warn you in the thread title

totally agree re facebook

but i am very fond of a good mil thread. no one does bonkers quite like a mil scorned

Milady · 18/01/2010 13:46

at Soft-Play brawls.

Where I live most of these places sell Bacardi Breezers, beer and draught wine so you get people drinking from 10 am on a Saturday then leaping around on the equipment careless of toddlers and arguing amongst themselves r.e imaginary slights before DH has even had a chance to have a go at them!

BalloonSlayer · 18/01/2010 13:46

Jesus could cure all the legitimately disabled people who had parked in the disabled bays so they would not be eligible to park there either.

notnowbernard · 18/01/2010 13:48

TigerFeet I have already defended your thread as far too reasonable

GetOrfMoiLand · 18/01/2010 13:49

Bloody hell - shocked at the bacardi breezers in soft play. Where the hell do you live - Benidorm?

hbfac · 18/01/2010 13:51

Yes, notnowbernard is correct - v. reasonable.

Am now, however, thinking of how various deities would handle soft-play and facebook.

I'm thinking the Greek ones would have really gone to town with facebook.

In fact, it's a real shame it wasn't around back then. It's the missing element.

TigerFeet · 18/01/2010 13:52

RonNumber · 18/01/2010 13:53

I am still getting over the shock of alcohol and brawling parents in soft play areas.

Even here in Switzerland we don't get alcohol in soft play areas, and we pretty much get offered a glass of wine everywhere, even at parent/teacher evenings.

GibbonInARibbon · 18/01/2010 13:54

Yay to FB ones

No to softplay. I can bitch about those places all day long tbh.

Hassled · 18/01/2010 13:54

The Greek deities didn't need Facebook . How is FB going to help in a holding the Earth up scenario? I could see its usefulness in the whole apple/beauty contest thing, admittedly.

GibbonInARibbon · 18/01/2010 13:55

To be frank, an ice cold glass of white in my local one would help me greatly.

Ronaldinhio · 18/01/2010 13:57

I'd like a mil section

and a party (all possible snubs and slights) section

I thank you

NorbertDentressangle · 18/01/2010 13:58

"Am now, however, thinking of how various deities would handle soft-play and facebook"

....or at the other end of the scale how about a section along the lines of "What would Kerry Katona do?"

heading4home · 18/01/2010 13:59

MmeLindt I never get offered wine - am I living in the dodgy wrong part of Switzerland???

hbfac · 18/01/2010 13:59

I was thinking more about how much sneaking around they did, how they were always found out in their sneaking around, and how the wronged spouse's response was often massively disproportionate and (imo) often misdirected.

And they were also (imo) v. immature and spiteful.

  • they have a very tangled network of interconnected relationships.

Though, of course, none of the FB situations on mn are like that ... they just , hypothetically, might be.

Will have to think of an example.

EleanoraBuntingCupcake · 18/01/2010 14:01

lets face it greek mythology was the ancient greeks' answer to a large 'sunset beach' shaped hole in their lives.

I suspect it is the dreadful influence of the French here in Geneva.

Even the dog training class last week offered nibbles and wine.

Milady · 18/01/2010 14:09

Oh, I live in Essex hence the alcopops at soft play. I was much more appalled by the draught wine machine but did wonder if it had any similarities to the Wine-O-Matic which MQHQ is rumoured to have...

RonNumber · 18/01/2010 14:11

i remmeber a thread once where a dad ( boo hiss pantomime) said he NEVER drunk any alcohol when his kids were there

wot not even when they are asleep

NO
