I'm not great at politics but I am under the imptression that things like inheritance tax and tax breaks for married people are going to widen the gap between the rich and poor?

Am, I wrong? Would anyone like to explain how the Tories would improve my lot as a single mum. Would they find me a nice man to marry for example?

Of course they will increase the rich/poor divide. They are Tories, they can only think about how to benefit the already-rich.

As for the marriage CRAP. It makes me want to puke. Lets just penalise Lesbians/Gay/People who WANT to be single/children of single parents/victims of domestic violence... Enhancing inequalities is what the Tories are all about.

bump

Don't know if you caught BBC News last night, but Save the Children have issued some disappointing figures on child poverty in the UK news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/8479364.stm

The Minister for Work and Pensions lays out what Labour have in place to tackle child poverty, but with the aftershock of the recession still rippling, will it prove to be enough?

This is Save the Children's call to action www.savethechildren.org.uk/en/34_10162.htm .

Depends how you define poverty and in what context. Hve not clicked the link but I think it is obvious to all bar those with their heads up their arses, that Labour and CTC have made a huge difference financially to those with children. I hope nobody actually thinks Tories would improve anything for anyone who ears less than about £50,000 a year??? Because they wont.
