I had the best xmas I have ever had, it was perfect. I love it.

Morloth · 26/12/2009 11:28

Was nice here, quieter than usual as no visitors but was cosy and nice just the 3 of us.

VinegarTinselTits · 26/12/2009 11:30

I had a wonderful day with my lovely (bonkers) family, ds was an Angel and i got lovely pressies

MillyR · 26/12/2009 11:58

I had a lovely time yesterday. Dh has taken the kids to his parents' house for the day, so I am going to tidy up and then read.

bellavita · 26/12/2009 12:01

Nice time here too, with my parents, bro, sil and two children all staying.

They have all gone now - it is nice to have the house back to just us though.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 26/12/2009 12:03

Nope - we had a great day. But I actually like my parents and brothers as does DH and we let them organise everything. I had to peel sprouts

ThumbleBells · 26/12/2009 12:09

We had a mostly lovely day, nearly spoilt by DH's bro but we left MIL's before anything happened. Our dinner in the eve with MIL (she came over to us) was fab, lovely goose cooked by DH, lovely candlelight and Christmas lights - DS behaved ever so well and ate all his dinner by himself - yes, a lovely evening.

Missed my own family though - first Christmas away from them.

Trinity, so glad yours went as well as could be expected - it's not easy.

VerityBrulee · 26/12/2009 12:15

I had a lovely day, with the added bonus that we don't have to see the ILs until the 29th, so a few more days to enjoy before it all goes horribly wrong

petunia · 26/12/2009 12:16

Had a lovely time. For the first time, I didn't go on 'Delia (Smith) time' and try to follow her timetable for getting dinner ready for 1pm/2pm, as well as unwrapping presents/ doing stuff with the children. Instead, the turkey went in the oven when I was good and ready at 11.20am, dinner was ready for 3pm and I was a lot less stressed!

pingviner · 26/12/2009 12:18

i had a lovely day
so did DS and DP
despite DS toddler meltdown over dinner
we have agreed in future we will refer to this christmas as 'the one with the wailing'
and cannot wait to embarrass him with this as a teenager

mistletoekisses · 26/12/2009 12:21

No, you are not alone!

Our Christmas has been absolutely wonderful! We had a great day. Quiet and low key at home. All presents appreciated. Food lovely. DS a dream!

Feel very very lucky.

Cadmum · 26/12/2009 12:27

Christmas Eve was a disaster with a d&v virus but Christmas Day was lovely and all four of our dcs are still very pleased with their gifts so that was an immense plus!

I think that my parents (here from Canada) also enjoyed themselves...

mumblecrumble · 26/12/2009 12:43

We had an excellent XMas. The first just me, DH and DD as PIL snowed in in CHester. Missed then but it was lovely. Had comfy clothes on, lovely dinner, fabby pressies that we spent next to nothing on.... greta!!!

Crazycatlady · 26/12/2009 12:50

No, we had the best Christmas we've had for years. DD, nearly 1, was hilarious, family behaved themselves on Christmas Eve, we had lovely friends round yesterday and we've had some really fabulous food and lovely gifts. Lots and lots of fun all round, and now enjoying left overs and watching all the Christmas telly we've got stored on Sky+. Brilliant.

TheArmadillo · 26/12/2009 12:53

Great to hear about lovely christmasses.

It's nice to have christmas wiht lovely family (we had dp's over).

Nope, I love it. And firmly believe that anyone who pretends they don't like it is simply saying it for effect.

essenceofSES · 26/12/2009 13:10

I had a great Christmas - my first as a mum
DS (7mo) ate so much Christmas lunch, we couldn't believe it!! Kept my family entertained!

annh · 26/12/2009 13:14

We also had a lovely Christmas, we all got great gifts which we loved, my husband's aunt (who is staying with us from abroad until Monday) has been fed and watered handsomely and is having a great time, my Christmas dinner was fab - even if I do say so myself! - we managed to have ILs over for dinner and gifts without FIL getting drunk or making tactless comments - couldn't have gone better really!

Hulababy · 26/12/2009 13:17

We had a lovely time. Was nice and quiet at home, just the three of us. DD is a little poorly and has been over the last few days so having just a cosy day in planned was even more ideal.

I got some fab presents - love my SLR camera from DH.

I made a delicious meal

And we all had fun, and continuign to do so. Both sets of parents are coming at 3pm, along with siblings,

Nemofish · 26/12/2009 19:23

Lovely Christmas here too.
Dd(3.5) loved her presents and the whole 'magic' of it all, dh did Christmas dinner, I got tiddly on wine and played table football with dd.

We watched lots of Christmas telly and had nibbles and chocs, buffet tea and ice cream.

I do get stressed around christmas but dh has encouraged me to do nowt and let him take over, very little stresses him. Seems to be working.

Bless him.

Cybilswearingtrousers · 26/12/2009 19:24

I enjoyed Christmas day...and now I want to wipe all trace of it from my house

CoqAuVin · 26/12/2009 19:24

the min we opened the last present
i said "i can take the tree down now"

Brunettelady · 26/12/2009 19:32

We had a lovely xmas. My DS is 23 months so he is old enough to know what its about now. His little face when he saw the pile of presents made it sooooo lovely. He hasn't even looked at his old toys. Saw loads of family at my nans, ignored the tossers but had my lovely brothers and sister there which was nice as 1 brother has gone off to uni, sister is in the navy and other brother is going in the army soon. It is the only day of the year that we are all together, so you are not the only one who enjoyed it. I am glad to see that others did too as you hear so much of the people who hate it, it is nice to think there are people who are enjoying themselves.

Jux · 26/12/2009 19:49

I thought it would be awful with two deaths to contend with in the last 3 months, but actually, we toasted mum and bro, and then were beseiged by guests popping in, bringing sparkly stuff etc and we had a fab time!

I love Xmas anyway. And, to cap it all, I got some fab presents!

MrsMattie · 26/12/2009 19:52

Nope, loved it. Despite missing various absent friends and family...

Spent all Xmas Eve cooking, eating, listening to carols and generally feeling festive.

Lovely relaxing Xmas Day with enormous amount of food , walk on the Heath and back in my PJs on sofa in time for 'Enders. Bliss.

Boxing Day - huge brunch, walk in the park, over to relatives for early dinner / copious amounts of wine and now home and about to do the PJs-and-telly thing all over again.

I bloody love Christmas, me.
