it's not that unreasonable. he's gone fat, she doesn't fancy him/thinks his health is at risk and wants him to do something about it. unfortunately you can't make him lose weight and nagging won't help.

DH is obsessed with NOT getting fat- exercises nearly every day, yet will scavenge for food in the cupboards when I'm not around,
His dad had triple heart bypass when he was quite young, which worries me.
Dh still a 32 inch waist, but not what you'd call Mr 6 pack IYSWIM.
