I have blown many things. It could be said that I am an excellent blower

Katz · 17/12/2009 16:04

minty only glass, only glass! i have made via glass blowing paper weight, a vase and an test tube! mostly we used casting (moulds) to make things from glass - was all part of my PhD.

[Katz hopes that if she makes it sound very dull people will ignore her blowing comment]

MintyCandyCane · 17/12/2009 16:07

Ahhh Dr Katz you talented girl - sadly MN will never ignore a comment about blowing.

MadBadandCoveredinTinsel · 17/12/2009 16:07

I am going on a glass-blowing course tomorrow. I will send Kirsty your regards.

Katz · 17/12/2009 16:16

minty - what if i go on and on about how one makes glass, the chemicals required, the difficulties in making novel glass compositions, about the glass dissolving the vessel in which it was heated escaping into the furnace and leaving a beautiful puddle of black glass in it wake! or the hours spent prefecting complex chemical composition to substitute hazard chemicals which combust at 1500 C, the temp we make glass at. Oh i could go on for hours! in fact my thesis is over 250 pages long!

Better still i can describe what a glass is and how they differ from other materials let me begin.....

MintyCandyCane · 17/12/2009 16:25

yeah actually katz better keep it to yourself [yawn emotion]

a jammy dodger isn't very festive..even with a hat on

Bah humbug!

MintyCandyCane · 17/12/2009 19:48

Those eco friendly baubles are a bit manky

How do you get your norks into a christmas stocking ? Do you need a shoe horn ?

I agree this looks like a dogs bum with a hat on

[fmincepie] is a much better idea

norksinmychristmasstocking · 17/12/2009 20:04

Well they are normally in my waistband, just feeling a bit more droopy atm and am trying to be festive so thought I would pop on my christmas stockings

MintyCandyCane · 17/12/2009 20:45

how very creative of you I am sure kirsty would approve

PoppityMerryGentlemen · 17/12/2009 21:08

My baubles are quilted.

I'm planning to batik the hamster to give him a more Christmassy look, but I only have purple dye from the hedgerow blackberries and need a more festive colour. Any tips?
