To think that my friend has some far out views on potty training

Her DS has started school and is still in nappies. The school have made some suggestions about getting him trained, cue outrage and comment that "new research" suggest nappies are fine up until 7.

Am I being ridiculously old school or is she in fact MAD???

I would have thought that there is some form of difficulty here - at 4 the child himself is old enough to not use the nappies if he doesn't need to. If he's using them, he needs them, even if that is hard for outsiders with no knowledge of him or his needs or his upbringing to understand!

Maybe she does worry that her child will be bullied for being soaking wet several times a day (as I think children are more likely to notice a puddle than what kind of pants one of their friends is wearing) and that is why she puts him pull ups/training pants?

I don't know why I am still posting on here; I'm just going to get annoyed about the people who know nothing calling a total stranger MAD and NUTS etc...

DS1 was out of nappeis at 3yr 4 month still wets every other night though at 6yr3 months
DD1 was out by 3yr 1 month dry at night by 3yr 5month
DD2 out by 2.5 months and dry by night the same week. DD2 probably wanted the praise DD1 was getting.

Both girls were easy to, but DS was a bit more of a struggle. Still cant over come the bedwetting though!

I've a nephew who is 4yo and is still in nappies. The parents are lazy with potty training hence the reason he's still not toilet trained. The child has to make an effort but so does the parent aswell, otherwise they'll be in nappies forever!
There must be more to this story than meets the eye, even if it is pull-ups.
