I am very

When I was out for a walk today I counted the number of dog poos on my street after feeling like I am constantly dodging them.

I counted six within about 100 metres! I am out with the pram and with a walking DS1 all the time and the other day he stepped in poo, it makes me so and if I see an owner allow their dog to crap all over the street I will rub their nose all over it.

AIBU? I think not.

i don't like it either but i often pick up after others usually at the playground near to my DS school. All the children go there after school to play.

the other mums all stand around the shit and tell the children to walk around it, i on the other wade straight in with my bag and pick it up! all the parents think i'm disgusting .

my dogs go to the toilet on command.

ABetaDad · 13/12/2009 18:10

Where we used to live dog owners used to take ther dogs out in the car to walk near us. Some let their dogs poo in our drive way while others scraped it put it in pappy bags and then chucked it out of the car window as they drove past at speed. The hedgerows were strewn with blue plastic nappy bags hanging suspended from branches full of poo.

Nice!

pigletmania · 13/12/2009 18:11

YANBU dogs need do poo, so owners should clean it up then!

ThumbleBells · 13/12/2009 18:13

YANBU at all, loathsome attitude of the people who can't be arsed to clean it up. When I lived in the UK there was a lovely park that had lots of children running around in it - dogs were allowed as well and there were bins available at every entrance/exit for poo. Still didn't stop some of the lazy bastards just leaving turds all over the grass for the DC to step in.

I won't have a dog because of the poo-picking up that is an essential part of dog-ownership, imo. (I HATE dog poo, it makes me vomit)

shivster1980 · 13/12/2009 18:16

YANBU it is revolting. I have carried my dog's shit home in a tissue [vomit] (caught out ) rather than leave it.

minimu · 13/12/2009 18:26

YANBU it is disgusting and totally unnecessary for dogs to poo on the pavements.

I do have dogs and all my dogs are trained to poo at home before we go out for a walk. IF and it is a big if they poo on the walk I always pick up. It is no big deal and everyone with a dog should do it.

PS guide dogs and assistance dogs will go in a specified area at home and will not poo out while working.

If you are not prepared to pick up don't have a dog simple

diddl · 13/12/2009 19:04

When a dog pooed outside our drive & the owner left it, I bagged it, ran after her & gave her the bag.

nickytwotimes · 13/12/2009 19:06

Yanbu.

I am going off dogs as I get older tbh.

Used to want one, but all they seem to do is bark, shit and make houses smell. ANd cast hairs all over you furniture.

Most dog owners I know are just dog-apologists.

AgentZigzagDoingAYuleLog · 13/12/2009 19:09

Lol nicky, my dog apologises for herself if you ask her nicely enough

MavisEnderby · 13/12/2009 19:10

YANBU it is one of my bugbears.

nickytwotimes · 13/12/2009 19:11

at Agentzigzag.

ilovemydogandmrobama · 13/12/2009 19:13

On a lighter note, DD wanted to ask Santa where the reindeer poo'ed and how he cleaned it up.

LondonNinja · 13/12/2009 19:15

YANBU! It's vile. I hate people who think letting a dog shit all over the pavement is fine.

I was pushing DD home in her buggy a few evenings ago (well, 4pm) and it was dark. A stupid woman with a dog and two kids was standing near my front garden. She was so dozy she didn't tell me to stop ? until I had pushed the buggy through her animal's pile of poo. The silly moo saw me approach. Idiot.

She muttered 'Oh, sorry' as she scooped up some of the rest of the mess. I then spent an hour, with a stinking cold, tying to clean the wheels of my pushchair and also wash the area outside my gate.

Disgusting. I was bloody furious. (Still am.)

AgentZigzagDoingAYuleLog · 13/12/2009 19:17

They don't miss a thing do they? What did you tell her ilove?

nannynobnobs · 13/12/2009 19:17

I hate clearing up after my dog- it appears that whatever breeds of dog are in his dozy mongrel genes, he got the turds of the biggest one- but I still bloody do it. Bring back the dog licence. My street looks like a shit cloud passed over it some days.

UnquietDad · 13/12/2009 19:17

Yes, i get furious about this too. But then I admit I am a bit of an anti-pet fascist. I hate the fact that people even own great slavering hairy beasties, let alone let them crap everywhere.

Vallhala · 13/12/2009 19:22

MorelyLass, I'm so glad I'm not alone in bagging poo up and coming back to it at the end of my walk (I live in the country too, in case people are wondering). I always feel as if I'm a criminal doing so though, scared someone will think that I'm bagging it and then leaving it!

ilovemydogandmrobama · 13/12/2009 19:57

Magical reindeer who wait until they get back to the North Pole! Although of course Santa has bags should they have an accident

AgentZigzagDoingAYuleLog · 13/12/2009 20:12

Hehe

Goober · 13/12/2009 20:16

I am a dog owner and always pick up.
It infuriates me too.
It is disgusting and ilegal to leave it.
Rubyrubyruby: Are you for real?

MaryNeedsAFeckingDonkey · 13/12/2009 21:44

Neighbour of ours installed cctv and a little notice in the window informing dog owners that the purpose of said camera was to catch them - and their dogs - in the act. Cleaned up our street very successfully.

YA definitely NBU

Goober · 13/12/2009 21:55

Sadly, these irrisponsible dog owners get us all a bad name. I get stared at lots while my dog is "On the job".

Gangle · 13/12/2009 21:56

YANBU. There is always dog shit on our street (despite signs everywhere about it) and I am paranoid about wheeling the buggy through it or DS stepping in it and bringing it indoors. There is a huge ugly dog living on our street with an even uglier owner and convinced it's the culprit. I almost confronted her one day then realised I didn't actually have any evidence, just a strong inkling! Can't you call the council and complain? What's worse, we often find some kind of poo on the wall betweeen our front garden and the street, just by the bins, like some animal has sat on the wall and pooed whilst rifling through our bins. Disgusting.

theyoungvisiter · 13/12/2009 22:00

YANBU. We live en route to the park and our road is CONSTANTLY covered in dog shit because the poor dogs have obviously been crossing their legs for hours.

There has been a dog shit on our front path three times in the last three months.

I mean, what kind of arse stands and watches while their dog shits on someone else's front path and then just walks off?

maristella · 13/12/2009 22:52

YANBU!!!
