DS is 2.6, he goes to pre-school twice a week and this morning i've received lots of cards to him from the other children. That's great but he hasn't got a clue what they are or who they're from as he's 2!!

We got a letter home listing all the children's names and I think it's made people think they should send in cards

I have enough to do atm without writing cards on his behalf for people he doesn't even know really so AIBU to just pick a few kids he mentions and send them?

Is it me or is this a bit OTT, surely parents have better things to do?

Also, I overheard some of dd's classmates mum's talking this morning, saying they'd be writing cards for their dc(year 1 children) I'm making dd write them all she's 5.6 and once I tell her how to spell the names she'll be able to write them all herself won't she?

We also got a list from pre-school and DS is 2.6. He never mentions anyone and I really don't think I shall be sending any other than to the helpers.

The DDs have always written their own too.

It will take you about 10 minutes OP; I don't think yabu to not want to do it, but it really is a teeny tiny chore in the squillions of other things that need to be done at Christmas .

no offence meant but I have about 25 presents to get, loads of cards to write from the family, 40 hours to make up at work,15 hours a week normal working hours at work, a VAT return to compile, a CIS return to do, 3 tax returns to deal with, pre-school accounts to prepare and file, help at pre-school party on fri and a million other things to do, so 10 mins maybe but if you can't tell writing cards to people ds hasn't a clue who they are isn't on top of my priority list.

and yes I do realise if i'm that busy mn isn't the best place to be but I am allowed to have some me time

None taken . Its alright, I don't need anyone to enlighten me on how busy this time of year can be.

It's the cards done by all the others that went to the bin, 2rebecca. Not being mean, just trying to keep the house from becoming a fire hazard . 5 DCs x average 25 children per class = a huge pile of cards that gets taken out of the schoolbags the day before returning to school in January (= bin).
I have so much kept that DCs drew or wrote from when they were small it's not funny. I love it all and hope they'll enjoy seeing it when they're adults.

Well I didn't send any cards(sent home made bags of sweets for the staff) and he has come home with loads today - one even had a chocolate coin in it! I asked him if he knew or played with "W" and he says he doesn't. Oh well - some people must have all the time in the world

Oh but it is sweet for them to post them into the christmas post box! I wasn't going to bother but am having a christmassy moment.!
