to have complained about a beavers' leader?

One of the school mums recently started as a beavers' leader where my daughter goes. I know a lot about this woman as do a lot of other parents. She is very neglectful of her own daughter (she's on her own) and has actually told her that she detests her. She is a severe self-harmer and has done so in front of her own child, in fact only 2 weekends ago she caused terrible damage to the tendons in her arm resulting in a dash to A & E. She has been making money through prostitution though spends it on tattoos for herself and on nothing for her daughter. Social services are involved in her case. I know the beavers role may be part of rehabilitation for her but I feel very uncomfortable having her around my child (as does a friend of mine) in a leadership role. I mentioned my worries to one of the main group leaders and she has now been told that she won't be able to undertake this role. Have I been unreasonable doing this?

Altho I'm none the wiser. But never mind...I shall glide on with dignity.

actually i think you are being unreasonable.

is she going to be prostituting herself at beavers? no

is she going to harm herself at beavers? no

is she going to tattoo all the children? no

what she could well be trying to do is to break out of the cycle she is in, do some good for other people and help out a local group

what you have done is prevent that, without even knowing if it is true.

so well done

sorry, had to come back to this

i think you may have been justified had you thought that the children attending were at risk

but seriously, are they? did you actually think that? in a group with other adults around, and a lady with (as far as we know) no history of harming children?

as far as i can see she poses no risk to those children, and as such ought to be able to volunteer for whatever the hell she wants to without nosy do-gooders like you preventing her

Prostituting to pay 4 tattoos is a weird one.
To pay for food, to pay for drugs, to pay your pimp, or because you're a nymphomaniac, sure, all standard stuff... but tattoos?
