to have complained about a beavers' leader?

One of the school mums recently started as a beavers' leader where my daughter goes. I know a lot about this woman as do a lot of other parents. She is very neglectful of her own daughter (she's on her own) and has actually told her that she detests her. She is a severe self-harmer and has done so in front of her own child, in fact only 2 weekends ago she caused terrible damage to the tendons in her arm resulting in a dash to A & E. She has been making money through prostitution though spends it on tattoos for herself and on nothing for her daughter. Social services are involved in her case. I know the beavers role may be part of rehabilitation for her but I feel very uncomfortable having her around my child (as does a friend of mine) in a leadership role. I mentioned my worries to one of the main group leaders and she has now been told that she won't be able to undertake this role. Have I been unreasonable doing this?

  • I am always amazed how much people know about others.
AccioPinotGrigio · 03/12/2009 15:28

How fucking dull is Beavers, surely the kids would have enjoyed a slightly edgier experience. DIY indian ink tatt classes, who can deep throat the banana etc.

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 15:53

You have all lowered the tone terribly. Report to Brown Owl for cleansing spanks immediately.

Tortington · 03/12/2009 15:55

there was a similar thread last week or the week before about "oh i know this mum in the playground is a prostitute and doesn't look after her child well..."

it went on for ages.

the ops either a nutter or has a serious stalker like urge re: this woman. which is also nutterish

victoriascrumptious · 03/12/2009 16:00

Gosh there are ever such a lot of prostitutes around these days. It used to be that everyone was in media sales or recruitment.

catinthehat2 · 03/12/2009 16:01

Howling, are you from HPC by any chance?

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:04

Wots HPC?

Everyone's a prossie these days, victoria, do keep up.

SomeGuy · 03/12/2009 16:09

it could well be that this woman puts her beaver out a bit, but why doesn't the OP do some beavering of her own, by watching the leader of the beavers doing her weekly beavering. The beavers beaver for basically 1 hour per week? There will be other beaver leaders beavering also, so it's not like she might be exposing the little beavers to her beaver-bashing by herself?

mental note to self: need more beaver in life.

victoriascrumptious · 03/12/2009 16:09

Oh, how does one become a prozzie? I'm looking at options for part time work

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:12

You have to have an NVQ in beaverages, I understand

SomeGuy · 03/12/2009 16:13

try google maps:

maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=escort%20agency&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl

they have a neat little map of the agencies near you, with websites and phone numbers, lots of them have reviews too. Choose one that looks good and send em your VD CV.

MarioChristmas · 03/12/2009 16:17

You seem to be able to find that link very easily SomeGuy

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:17

Wow, am liking those, Someguy. A lot of them have 10% off before 4pm - what a bargain!

SomeGuy · 03/12/2009 16:19

10% off? Like 'no socks'?

MarioChristmas · 03/12/2009 16:20

Just clicked on the link and there is an agency on my street apparently!

Will be eyeing my neighbours suspiciously now

ijustwanttoaskaquestion · 03/12/2009 16:21

Is this a joke???? I used to a be a self harmer, suffer from depression, am on medication and have just finished counselling. Its nice to know that other people are so understanding!!

I'm actually thinking of becoming a teacher - seriously - maybe i should give up on it, because people like the OP wouldnt want me around their children!

SomeGuy · 03/12/2009 16:21

although technically I'm not sure escorts wear socks. Tights more likely.

I really should enroll for that NVQ, as there are just too many holes in my knowledge.

catinthehat2 · 03/12/2009 16:21

HOuse Price Crash ,there was a thread the other day if you look.

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:22

As long as they're not in your tights (unless crotchless of course, which I believe are de rigeur for NVQ 2).

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:23

Cat - eh?

victoriascrumptious · 03/12/2009 16:30

I'm relieved to hear that they wear tights. Nothing worse that being cold in this weather

SomeGuy · 03/12/2009 16:41

I dunno, I think they are the sheer 'barely there' ones, not the wooly practical ones. 5 denier won't keep out much cold.

At least their uniform includes woggles and a tie as well.

CremeDeMenthe · 03/12/2009 17:21

According to SomeGuy's link there's an escort agency operating out of my local wool shop .

catinthehat2 · 03/12/2009 17:43

This thread fgs. I wish there was a Let Me Google Mumsnet Advanced Search That For You button.

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 18:54

Creme - it's the cardigans. Never trust them. Thanks Cat.
