went clothes shopping with dh yesterday while the dc's where in school , dh spotted one of those jumper dresses that he thought would look nice on me , to me it looks like a Bridget Jones Xmas jumper type dress ,
i will describe if i can = it is a rusty red colour , sleeveless & has a teddy about a foot in size on the front & the same on the back , crochet on the top . we left the shop and for three hours solid dh kept nagging me to buy the dress as he though it would look nice on me , in the end tired & feet killing me i gave in & bought the bloody thing just to shut him up but i doubt if i will ever wear it . it was only £20 pound so not expensive .

Please don´t go shopping with him again!

Has he always tried to tell you what to wear/buy?

It seems as if he wants to put you in childrens clothes!

biggirlsdontcry · 02/12/2009 15:52

no diddl , he actually thinks he is being helpful , i do ask his opinion sometimes but he has very different taste than me , anyway i didn't get over to the shop to exchange the dress today as we went to a different shopping centre an hours drive away but i am changing it first thing in the morning , .

Well, that´s something.

My husband sometimes tells me that something I don´t like the look of would suit me.

He´s usually right!

But if I don´t like it or buy it, that would be the end of it!

I think it´s the nagging from your husband that´s the oddest thing, tbh!

Is he designing an amateur panto, BigGirls?
Teddies, ladybirds, he'll have you in the (crocheted) front end of a pantomime horse next!

GibbonInARibbon · 02/12/2009 17:29

I vote you change your name to 'IDontDoTeddyBears'

SoupDragon · 02/12/2009 17:45

f*ck! That's even worse than I imagined!

pagwatch · 02/12/2009 17:48

Bloody Nora.

That dress makes me want to poke myself in the eyes.

Thank you. Thank you. Seriously

Pikelit · 02/12/2009 17:55

Lawks but that's a seriously scary frock - and trust me, I know scary when I see it. Has your husband suggested any "accessories" for it yet? Only I fear that this may be the next step towards the Twilight Zone.

shivers so goes downstairs to pour comforting cup of tea

biggirlsdontcry · 02/12/2009 18:06

yes i have left my profile open now for all to see the dress as it really is a case of seeing is believing
i think im the one that needs the extra sweet tea for the shock

That is weird... I can't believe it's Miss Sixty as well.. it'd be alright without the teddy on it. It's a spooky teddy.
Glad you put pic up - I've been popping back to this thread frequently as the curiosity was killing me!

stainesmassif · 02/12/2009 20:04

here's the menu, a couple of veggie options, but you're not exactly spoilt for choice.

however, it's so worth it for the view and the experience. obviously, i'm biased, but would recommend it to anyone. how often do you get a whole restaurant to yourself?? unfortunately the photos don't really do it justice. the building is beautiful, but the views are specatacular! have a fab time.

stainesmassif · 02/12/2009 20:08

wrong thread!

hatwoman · 02/12/2009 20:08

yep. worse than I imagined too. I thought it might be a dark grey or black long-sleeved polo neck with a small teddy near the hem. still weird but possibly, just about, ok. ish. but that??!! is it really Miss Sixty?

LuluR · 02/12/2009 20:22

that's given me the laugh that i needed today.

curiositykilledhaskittens · 02/12/2009 20:33

Oh God that is awful! The jumper is weird and awful but it's quite a lot weirder that a. Your DH nags you about what he thinks you should wear and b. That you actually sometimes buy the awful things that he nags you about! Hope the shop would have it back and weren't glad to be shot of it!

oldfucker · 02/12/2009 23:14

Oh my goodness. My DH had a weird sense of what was fashionable. He would never buy clothes, so I ususlly got him soem for Christmas however I made the mistake of getting him a v-neck jumper and he ranted about it for months as he said it was 'old fashioned'. Fact was he was so way off with fashion sense he hadnt realised v-necks had come back and had been round for a while

Thingiebob · 02/12/2009 23:30

Has he always tried to get you to wear this kind of thing?

skydancer1 · 03/12/2009 00:24

My theory on this dress is that your DP is broody, or wants to go back to the womb. The teddy is positioned where a bump would be, right?
