To be totally amazed at this disgusting t shirt by Suzi Warren

I stumbled upon this website selling baby/toddler t shirts designed by Suzi Warren, and was shocked at the t shirt with 'i do fuck all'. I think that it is totally inappropriate and disgusting and would never buy it in a million years, what right minded parent would. Mabey it would appeal to the Vicky Pollard types. She justifies this by saying that quoting from Take a Break this week that "this is not a t shirt for children. This is a t shirt for adults which is funny when worn by a baby" WTF what planet is this woman from, i neither find it funny or cute

I actually don't know what assumptions I'd make about a parent who put their baby in this, and I don't think people have really discussed it on this thread.

Have people said the parents are unworthy to reproduce elsewhere, Disenchanted?

pigletmania · 29/11/2009 10:42

No disenchanted but not very nice, does not mean that you are a bad parent just that some of your parenting choices are

pigletmania · 29/11/2009 10:43

no imo its offensive and should not be on a child

Omg, youy lot need to channel your energies on something worthy of being riled at.

Theres a lot of bad shit in the world, and a tshirt with a swear word on is pretty far down my list of 'disgusting things in this world'.

MitchyInge · 29/11/2009 10:44

If I saw that t-shirt on a baby I would laugh, because it is true, they don't do much do they?

Probably wouldn't parade it around Waitrose though.

KnickKnackLovesLateLateToyShow · 29/11/2009 10:44

I have a generally a dark or sarcastic sense of humour...the tshirt is still full of tack.
Rich people are perfectly capable of being "crappy low life parents" and poor people are capable of spending money they dont have.

pigletmania · 29/11/2009 10:45

well this is the AIBU thread after all mainly but not always dedicated to the meaningless and petty.

Biscuit
MillyR · 29/11/2009 10:46

But disenchanted, who is riled? People are just saying they don't like it. You seem to be fighting against some kind of moral indignation that nobody is expressing.

Disenchanted3 · 29/11/2009 10:46

Well I shall do my very first and leave then.

pigletmania · 29/11/2009 10:47

Gosh i must be the only one on here that finds it offensive

I love that t-shirt.

It would be worn on a PFB to take to visit 'cool' childless friends in order to demonstrate that parenthood hadn't completely robbed me of my sense of humour.

sasamaxx · 29/11/2009 10:51

No way would I put my child in that (or the horrible rabid dog one either) - I think they're both tasteless

shockers · 29/11/2009 10:53

You're not piglet.

Fibilou · 29/11/2009 10:53

Nope Piglet, you're not alone. I think it's revolting unnecessary.

Is this really considered to be funny and cool ? If what is now "funny" is baby clothes with fuck written on them I'm happy to be thought of as lacking in humour and square. Nothing against swearing, but on a baby ????

I think people have lost leave of their senses actually.

famishedass · 29/11/2009 10:53

It's horrid to put that on a child, but I'd love to have it one when dh steps through the door at night!

sasamaxx · 29/11/2009 10:54

LOL at famishedass

Feenie · 29/11/2009 10:56

It's inappropriate - obviously.

famishedass · 29/11/2009 10:56

I brought this for my teenager though

nice

MillyR · 29/11/2009 10:57

I think the most of the range is very uncool and tasteless. It is like some kind of branding hell. It is more in the same range as 3 years olds in all black, skinny jeans, and 'media employee' dark rimmed glasses, which I have had the misfortune to see.

It is in the same realm as the parents of one of my former childminder's other charges, who instructed the childminder to take their 5 year old into HMV to help him choose an Eminem CD (this was 6 years ago).

I am not sure it is offensive, just unpleasantly contemporary.

wastingaway · 29/11/2009 11:03

Obviously putting it on the baby to take to playgroup, or visit granny might be inappropriate. It's a novelty item.

I find all those t-shirts with 'I'm a princess' or 'Loud and proud' more offensive though.

It's just a swear.

IsItMeOr · 29/11/2009 11:03

piglet I'm with you. I do like the acorn and oak combo though .

itsmeolord · 29/11/2009 11:05

I don't find the humour "dark and sarcstic" I find it juvenile and attention seeking.

Hey look at me, I'm so urban trendy and uber cool that i think plastering my childs clothes in swear words makes me look deeply ironic,,,,,,,
Oh and yah, it's my human right to swear ya know....

SolidGoldBangers · 29/11/2009 11:08

It's great, especially if you have twatty judgy acquaintances or relatives you want to wind up.
