The mother of one of DDs pals was until recently working out of town doing I know not what until the early hours of the morning. Of course, lots of people do shift work so I thought nothing of it at the time. Now I learn that the mum is working from home as a masseuse. Again, that could be very innocent, but this lady's clients are visiting her late in the evening and at night.

I know I'm making assumptions as her previous until 3am job may not have been anything to do with massage but if it was I'm doubtful that someone with a sports injury or a stressed mum would be consulting a masseuse in the evenings/early morning.

So, AIBU... or are you thinking what I'm thinking?

No one is "sullying someone's reputation"

she has not been named, no one knows who she is, this is Valhalla (also not named) musing on the comings and goings of neighbours.

You could probably cut and paste some words from the OP, put it into google and it would come back with 10,000 hits (not on mumsnet)

Perpective. Get some.

groundhogs · 25/11/2009 00:03

Thing is Valhalla, whatever anyone here says, you are only writing what others would wonder....

just that you actually put it in writing....

Pats valhallas head back down below parapet...

groundhogs · 25/11/2009 00:04

x-post laurie..

LastTrainToNowhere · 25/11/2009 00:04

So if you're anonymous and the person you're talking about is anonymous then it's all ok, is it Laurie? That will make MN pretty pointless won't it? "Here's another thread about someone we don't know talking about someone who may not exist".

IMVHO, the collective reputation of masseurs and masseuses in general has been "sullied" by this thread. So there...

thesunshinesbrightly · 25/11/2009 00:05

You dont live in london by any chance OP?

Valhalla is not being nasty she is a very wise women of the world!

thesunshinesbrightly · 25/11/2009 00:07

woman

groundhogs · 25/11/2009 00:08

Perspective please ladies...

massage is an interesting arena...

50% of all prostitution in the uk is conducted though massage parlours....

OP is not saying anything, merely raising eyebrows, her crime was to do it here...

Sports therapists and genuine treatment masseusses are one thing, if the person is working very late into the night, then surely there may be cause for speculation.

She's apologised, time to stop flogging that dead horse.

groundhogs · 25/11/2009 00:10

yeah sunshines, i was wondering the same thing.. if so, I'm betting NORTH of the river????

Used to have these kind of 'rows' all the time with the south of the river girls when I worked in Camberwell, it was an eye-opener.

Vallhala · 25/11/2009 00:22

Groundhogs how very dare you!

North of the river? NORTH?

Pah!

(I don't live in London but I did, and NEVER north of the river!).

Tell me, I have a vested interes, whats the difference between north of the river and South of the river/Camberwell girls?

thesunshinesbrightly · 25/11/2009 00:31

Well Vallala, i was asking in the nicest possible way, it's just a girl has left my area and has no morals, she is truly vile, and i dont say that lightheartly but i think she was one.

sorry, think i'm really tired and i dont even know what i am talkin about myslef.

groundhogs · 25/11/2009 00:46

Ah well,

I used to work with an Archway ahem excuuuse me Highgate boss, I myself hailed from Queens Park at the time.

I used to work in a project office with 3-4 girls, myself, one from Primrose Hill, one from Herne Hill and there were another couple of SL girls at times with us too. None of them were Camberwell girls FWIW, just that the offices were there.

Boss was a nice enough bloke, not offensive at all in general, very fair and generous. He used to walk in every morning and say Good Morning Chicks to all of us.

The SL girls bristled, the NL ones didn't flinch and just said Morning...

Some jokes didn't go down too well either...

It was odd, and I thought so at the time... but it doesn't mean anything at all, just that NL and SL are more different than I thought.

Can i take pith helmet off now?

Vallhala · 25/11/2009 00:50

Course you ca Groundhogs!

This SL girl wouldn't have bristled at being called a chick (I recall Diana used to use the saying, so if its good enough for a Princess....!).

NL and SL are SO different... but thats another thread.

Y'see, had the SL girls come from where the office was based they would have been absolutely marvellous, all the best people come from Camberwell!

OP posts:
groundhogs · 25/11/2009 10:37

You may have a point there Valhalla, there weren't any Camberwellians in the office.

the NL/SL thing is so weird, but they are 2 different people... think I'd get on with you tho, despite our living on different side of the water..

But I'm back in 'Ampshire now!
