The mother of one of DDs pals was until recently working out of town doing I know not what until the early hours of the morning. Of course, lots of people do shift work so I thought nothing of it at the time. Now I learn that the mum is working from home as a masseuse. Again, that could be very innocent, but this lady's clients are visiting her late in the evening and at night.

I know I'm making assumptions as her previous until 3am job may not have been anything to do with massage but if it was I'm doubtful that someone with a sports injury or a stressed mum would be consulting a masseuse in the evenings/early morning.

So, AIBU... or are you thinking what I'm thinking?

I'm a sports massage therapist. I'm self employed, not a company, so you wouldn't find any business registration for me, and I finished work at 9.45 tonight. I do work days too but evenings are my busiest time. So she might be legit. On the other hand i've been so shocked at how many women round here do the other sort of massage and how many men call to enquire as to whether i provide "hand relief" at the end of my massages!

SolidGoldBangers · 24/11/2009 23:00

Having read a few of your threads, Valhala, you do seem to take an awful lot of interest in other people's business and be very keen to announce their percieved failings to the world. Do not do anything about this woman. You have NO IDEA what she is doing with her life and it is NOTHING to do with you.

Vallhala · 24/11/2009 23:16

SGB, I'm sorry if I haven't made it clear enough in previous posts upon this thread. My question was about my perception and I was not suggesting or considering "doing anything" about the matter. Of course it has nothing to do with me, I was just musing.

As I have said I know nothing about the profession and I have acknowledged and thanked those who do and have also said that I have learned something new tonight (and its good to learn, so thank you again to the talented ladies whose expertise I could really do with!).

I think that you have taken me the wrong way on this occasion SGB.

SHE IS A WHOOOOORE!

(maybe)

dawntigga · 24/11/2009 23:21

So what if she is?

WonderingWhatDifferenceItMakesTiggaxx

MitchyInge · 24/11/2009 23:25

Maybe she does tantra massages?

LastTrainToNowhere · 24/11/2009 23:33

I visit my masseuse in the evenings. What with work and arranging childcare, my regular appointment is always at 7.15 and finishes at 8.30

Haven't read the whole thread, but really at the curtain-twitching nature of the post.

Fruitysunshine · 24/11/2009 23:34

It never fails to amuse me the amount of people on here who feel it is their moral duty to judge others based on god knows how factual some of the information.

That is probably why I do not "do" school gates - too many people gossiping about others!

groundhogs · 24/11/2009 23:35

Gets marshmallows ready....

Vallhala · 24/11/2009 23:45

Groundhogs. I've got the chocolate in... Galaxy anyone?

I will say it again . I posted this because I doubted my own reasoning and NOT because I am/was judging the mum. I have been corrected by those who know better than me and now I understand the hours people work in this profession. I've apologised for having inadvertantly offended. My morals don't come into this and I don't think I've voiced them either. If I appear to have I'm bloody well sorry for that too!

In short, I've had a shitty day and my post was largely "am I reading this the wrong way 'cos I'm knackered and probably mistaken". Now I know I AM mistaken.

I hope this makes sense, please give me a break!

Ooh! Popcorn!

Is it toffee flavoured, I don't like that salty stuff!

groundhogs · 24/11/2009 23:47

Oh FFS Valhalla, it was a light hearted post, some take it all too much to heart.

forgeddabouddit..

Fruitysunshine · 24/11/2009 23:49

Vallhala - I am sorry you have had a shitty day but if someone I knew suspected I was on the game just by the hours I kept I'd be banging on their door citing slander! (Even if it was true! )

But you said you have had a bad day, so that is a good enough reason to ruin the woman's reputation.

Vallhala · 24/11/2009 23:49

Thanks Groundhogs.

It was a lighthearted post, glad someone recognised that!

go read the other thread that kicked off... about falling out and bf... that'll cheer you up....

Last0rders · 24/11/2009 23:52

Used to have a young mum who lived in the same block of flats as me. She used to go out quite alot, usually early eveningish.

I didn't really know her, but talked to her if we were passing.

She was on her way out one night in a very short white dress, khaki jacket and boots, as I was coming in from shopping. She mentioned she was going clubbing.

A week later there was an article in local news about prostitutes, and lo and behold there she was, shot of her with pixelated face in her white dress.

I wasn't shocked, she was a young mum with 2 young children who were well looked after by a babysitter whilst she was out. And, more important, she wasn't bringing anyone back to house.

As parents we do anything to provide for our kids. It doesn't make us bad people.

Vallhala · 24/11/2009 23:53

Fruity, I haven't named the woman and I don't intend (and never intended) to do anything about it save for posting this bemused question. Please rest assured that the lady's reputation is intact.

Thanks for your sympathies over my shitty day, hopefully everyone else's has been better.

VengefulKitty · 24/11/2009 23:54

Oooh, definitely not salty popcorn, urgh!

Now, you know that you have to install CCTV to watch her every move don't you?. And preferably one with some sort of telescopic lens so you can see right into her bedroom for proof.

CheerfulYank · 24/11/2009 23:54

Cripes, with the mailbox full of bills I got this afternoon I wish I were on the game.

Vallhala · 24/11/2009 23:54

Groundhogs, given my excess doziness today I thought I was the only one who couldn't understand the bf thread. Then I read on... and now I feel better!

OP posts:
VengefulKitty · 24/11/2009 23:54

And 'tis true. Read the bf thread. You'll wet yerself!

Fruitysunshine · 24/11/2009 23:55
Grin
LastTrainToNowhere · 24/11/2009 23:55

Valhalla, sorry about your shitty day. But really that's no excuse to sully someone's reputation. You might have thought the thread was light-hearted but wondering if another woman's a whore isn't light-hearted by my book.

Now, toddle off and have a cup of tea and a and calm thee self down. Hope tomorrow is a better day for you

PS. I wouldn't return to this thread tomorrow, especially if you don't want another bad day. You've explained yourself and apologised, there's no point repeating yourself ad nauseum

groundhogs · 24/11/2009 23:59

Twas a work of art, painful, but we got there in the end...
