I wonder if after the birth 'they had stitches in their fanjo'

lovechoc · 13/11/2009 10:44

LOL @ claw3's comment

claw3 · 13/11/2009 11:06

Im loving it women wanted their men to be linked to their bodily functions and fanjos experiences, i think i shall start referring to myself and dp as 'we' from now on, like we are joined at the hip.

The possibilities are endless! 'We are having a period'

MamaVoo · 13/11/2009 13:00

My dh has a friend who is one half of a smug couple who go in for the 'we're pregnant' line. After we got married the friend took to asking dh on the phone 'are you pregnant yet?'. Dh felt totally justified saying no even when I was. What a weird thing for one man to ask another.

lovechoc · 13/11/2009 13:01

that is odd, mamavoo. have never heard a man asking another that question before!

wow there is no need for such nastiness

lovechoc · 13/11/2009 15:41

I agree, let's all stay civil. When it gets personal with posters, it's not fun.

anonymous85 · 13/11/2009 15:47

Exactly there is no need for nastiness and Ghouls really needs to take this on board. Twice now she's given me bitchy narky remarks and it's not necessary - especially when this time it's regarding my pregnancy.

anonymous85 · 13/11/2009 15:49

Sarcastic and bitchy. HATE people who go out of their way speaking to posters like that.

ClaireDeLoon · 13/11/2009 15:54

I think you should stop now anonymous. Really.

anonymous85 · 13/11/2009 15:59

I will. I'll just have to try and somehow block her - can you do that on here?

No, you can't block people on Mumsnet.

What you should do, anonymous is refrain from calling people names, and breaching the terms you agreed to when you joined the site.

I disagreed with your exceedingly odd post on another thread. And?

bangandthedirtisgone · 13/11/2009 20:05

"We're pregnant" is ridiculous.

Telling people you're ttc is TMI.

chegirl · 13/11/2009 20:41

Its like saying 'we are not using contraception'

but twee'er.

Maria2007loveshersleep · 14/11/2009 19:49

Hate the phrase. Also hate it (as someone mentioned) when couples go around calling each other 'mum' & 'dad'. Cringe.

On another note, anonymous, has it occured to you that some people may not necessarily want to know how quickly you got pregnant? Taking into account that lots of people try for ages & don't get pregnant? What you take for granted is not to be taken for granted. Congratulations for your pregnancy btw.

Nanga · 14/11/2009 20:38

I agree too. it really gets on my tits. and unfortunate that the only person who's ever used this expressoin was a very close friend who had married a very controlling man. when she told me this on the phone, i felt like he was sitting right next to her to check she was saying 'we' and not 'I'.

BabyGiraffes · 14/11/2009 20:49

Urgh, 'we are pregnant' and 'we are expecting' statements just make me feel queasy. Are 'we' also having the backacke, food cravings, weight gain etc etc? Somehow it feels to me like belittling what the woman has to go through if the man apparently shares the lot
