to think that the use of Whoop Whoop by 30 somethings is a bit sad?

Just checked Facebook, and have seen so many of my friends using "Whoop Whoop" and "Good Times" on their status updates.
These are people in their mid-30s, one is off to an event that I know will not even slightly be worthy of one Whoop, let alone 2.

And what the flying feck is "Toot Toot"?

And yes, I am perfectly willing to concede that I am an Old Gimmer

have to say though, I have never seen any of my lot use 'toot toot' or 'whoop whoop' and I have young teens (relatives) on mine.

They are all LMAO, ROFL, PMSL, LOL etc!

Oh, and "Get in there"

Lizzylou · 06/11/2009 22:10

Ah, an ironic Whoop Whoop, it could work.
Nah Bonkerz, it's the try hards that annoy me, the ones trying to prove that they are madly exciting (when you know that they are NOT!).

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern · 06/11/2009 22:37

I may also start a facebook group called "what's with the whoop whoop?"

Lizzylou · 06/11/2009 22:38

At least they don't add the phrase 'Gammon hangers' before it.
As in
Goin' out wiv me gammon hangers tonite, woop woop.'

My BIL's new girlfriend is such a skank.

VengefulSinner · 06/11/2009 22:44

Gammon hangers?! WTF?! I have never heard/seen that one

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern · 06/11/2009 22:45

Eeewww that really is vile isn't it?
Def need a cats bum for that one.

Lizzylou · 06/11/2009 22:46

That is just nasty, that would be an instant block from me, I think.

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern · 06/11/2009 22:59

I obviously meant whoop whoop I haven't suddenly turned into Cher

jennylindinha · 06/11/2009 23:05

Haha, Ineed - I was expecting a picture of Cher and Winona and not one of a cat's arse!

Have just had to scoot over to facebook but luckily all my mates are old fuddy duddies and don't use whoops, phew...

hatesponge · 06/11/2009 23:07

I dont know whats worse.

My friends (who are all old enough to know better) going whoop whoop or talking about 'avin it large' all over FB

Or DS1's 11 & 12 year old girl friends who constantly post msgs saying 'LUVVVV UUUUU LOADZZZZZ!!!!!' over each others walls/statuses or else bemoaning the fact they are single/ugly/unloved by their BFs......

SixtyFootDoll · 06/11/2009 23:09

can i drop in a whit-whoo here?

Lizzylou · 06/11/2009 23:10

Shall we just start using Shoop Shoop?
Bet it will take off!

SparklyGothKat · 06/11/2009 23:23

I find the fact that SIL spends all day on FB very strange, tonight, for example, she is out with friends for dinner, and is giving a blow-by-blow account of what she is eating and drinking, so unsociable...

Lizzylou · 06/11/2009 23:25

Really Sparkly?
That is sad, but then I only have a bog standard cheapo mobile phone. It is just an extension of people who spend all their lovely moments photographing and not actualling living them.
