To think that John and Edward from X factor are rubbish and the public are demented for voting for them.

I am sure that they are very nice boys but John and Edward have no singing talent at all, this weeks contribution just confirmed that. Why or why do the general public vote them in every week, I aam sick of it, especially when last weeks girl group got voted off, they were by far better than these two ahhhhhh

I am not saying Ant and Dec are without merit - if you like that sort of thing.

The difference between someone like Danyl / Rachel(poor Rachel) and John & Edward is like the difference between Jeremy Paxman and Ant & Dec. If you see what I mean.

whooosh · 01/11/2009 23:51

But how many people who actually vote for "Jedward" wold buy their album???

Oh god someone has seen the light! Jedward are AWFUL - they can't sing, they can't dance, they can't even keep in time to the music, and people still vote for them!

Give me Jamie Afro any day. Mmm.

Aligrylls Danyl is supposed to be unpopular because he is bisexual/up himself/arrogant/has a fat tongue /thinks he's already won. (depending on which rag you read)

I like him until he starts throwing himself around like he's got bad tummy ache and gurning. Obviously he is also in schtoopid-way-of-spelling-name territory which doesn't endear.

I quite like AntandDec. But then, I quite like Cheryl Cole unless she's singing.

pigletmania · 02/11/2009 07:53

The terrible twins were worse than they had ever been this week and yet they are still in whilst Rachel with real talent got voted off. I dont watch it anymore, its not based on singing talent at all.

foxinsocks · 02/11/2009 08:02

cheryl cole can barely sing a note and has the number one song and album

can also reel off plenty in that league!

you don't have to be able to sing to sell records in this country as Louis well knows

thought Danyl was awful last night, so out of tune and the one with the best voice has now been voted off (Rachel!)

ParanoidAtAllTimes · 02/11/2009 08:22

The thing that puzzles me is that none of the judges have pointed this out: lack of any musical/dancing ability aside, in what way are Jedward a group? Isn't the point in more than one person singing together that they can sing more than one note at the same time? I just don't get it! Louis shot himself in the foot IMO- by choosing those 2 planks he missed out on his one shot of winning (Miss Frank). I think that they would have continued to improve each week, given the chance. And they actually sang in harmony!!

Rachael really shouldn't have gone- it proves that it's no longer a talent contest but a popularity one.

gorionine · 02/11/2009 08:37

I do not follow the X factor but have caught a bit of it at least three weeks ago (they where on an island or somewhere that looked holliday-ish) they were dreadful. I am amazed to hear they are still standing!

wannaBe · 02/11/2009 12:58

but it's all about extremes though isn't it? Someone is obviously voting for them and keeping them in the competition on the one hand, but on the other hand people are aledgedly starting online hate groups about them, and that can't be right either can it?

Regardless how talented (or not) they are, they are ultimately just a couple of kids wanting to make it as singers. And however deluded that is, is there really anything wrong with that?

Rather than questioning how horrible they are/how untalented they are, shouldn't we rather be questioning how it is that people like them can come from nowhere and be turned into celebrities over night? And how it is that being on reality tv is something that people seem to aspire to and that doing a real job seems to come second to being famous?

Iklboo · 02/11/2009 13:02

My mate's husband thinks they look like Terrence & Philip from Southpark. Cue iklboo household singing Uncle(expletive)

MuGGGhoulWump · 02/11/2009 13:09

Funnily enough Whooosh, the only record I will buy will be Jedward.
Reason being I download all my music, but DD will want theirs if they release one so I will buy it for her.
I'd take her to see them too if she wanted.

I have said on another thread that if it were just me, I wouldn't vote or buy anything but because of DD, I enter into the whole fun of it.

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 02/11/2009 13:09

hate then hate them!!
terrible that for the last 2 weeks 2 great acts have gone (loved miss frank they were my fav) whe those ejits get to stay.
Please danyl, he needs to grow some guts if his going to stay in. Jamie has gone down imo. Love stacy and Ollie

wannaBe · 02/11/2009 13:12

miss frank were bloody awful.

Love olly.

sheeplikessleep · 02/11/2009 13:16

Two words - shirt ripping (and I thought I was a grown woman, can't believe I liked that )

Aussieng · 02/11/2009 13:28

Well the audience booing is enough to make me vote for Jedward. They are 2 17 year old lads and the "adults" in the audience should know better and behave better. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard at the TV as I did when Jedward did Britney, Brian likes working with them (because they are energetic and entertaining) and as for who will buy their album go to see them - well look how much money the Wiggles make, and I certainly wouldn't vote for them on X-Factor!!

It is not just a singing competetion or it would be called Britain's Best Singer. It is the X -Factor - it is about something additional to mere singing ability and those who have gone so far did not have it.

These things usually right themselves over time. We are only at the half way point. By the time the final comes around, the right people will be there, they always are and who has gone so far is irrelevant.

There has been a really nasty aspect to the X-Factor this year which I am finding really off putting. I don't watch Saturday night TV to watch adults booing 17 year olds or hear about someone being compared to Hitler just because they have a bit of ambition.

Nasty nasty nasty.

Divatheshopaholic · 02/11/2009 13:39

they are horrible, and they just just leave the show.
