To think that John and Edward from X factor are rubbish and the public are demented for voting for them.

I am sure that they are very nice boys but John and Edward have no singing talent at all, this weeks contribution just confirmed that. Why or why do the general public vote them in every week, I aam sick of it, especially when last weeks girl group got voted off, they were by far better than these two ahhhhhh

they are entertaining to watch but cant sing so should be voted off as x factor is a singing contest

the twins would do well being presenters like the annoying ant and dec who also cant sing

madamearcati · 01/11/2009 11:12

Simon will start talking John and Edward up soon just incase they do win and he has to sign them up and make some money out of them

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/11/2009 11:46

simon gets first refusal on all of the 12 acts

MarsLady · 01/11/2009 11:55

I don't think Simon would talk them up. I think he'll take the financial loss on the twins and offload them as soon as he can.

thesouthsbelle · 01/11/2009 13:47

he will do. X factor is about pop music. I don't for one minute believe any credible artist would go on there as the managements have far too much say over the artists. it's a way into the industry granted but at what cost?

programmes like x factor are meant to be a bit of fun, you'd never find the likes of cold play, beatles the stones oasis etc etc on a show like that. as such the pop music now has a lot more short lived successes. this is what I think Jedward will be. think cheeky girls, think chico. it all amounts to the same. It's a real shame as well as in some respects the market is being flooded by the short term so the longer terms are not having much opportunities.

MojoLost · 01/11/2009 13:57

Yes totally agree!! But I also think that boy LLoyd is a disaster and only gets votes because he is cute.
I also don't see what the judges like so much about the other young lad, I think his name is John?
However, I loooove Jamie Afro and Lucy Jones.

wannaBe · 01/11/2009 13:58

people are getting far too worked up about this imo.

It is an entertainment programme and people are clearly being entertained by John and edward. If it's not pure entertainment then why else do we sit through weeks and weeks of people being humilliated during their auditions? it's because people find it entertaining...

I think John and Edward are bloody awful but I think the fact that they're still in the competition is hillarious, and makes a valid point to the producers that if you deliberately put through low-rate acts (and you can't tell me they're the best of what applied) to entertain the public then there's a chance the public will be entertained and will vote for them.

So yes yabu.

And although I certainly won't vote for them (nor for anyone else, although am tempted by olly) I think it would be very amusing if they win.

MojoLost · 01/11/2009 14:03

The thing is wannabe, although this is an entertainment program it is also a door for proper talent to get in the business they dream of. So course of someone's life could change because of this program, so it really doesn't seem fair to keep people that don't deserve to be there at the expense of people that are improving and may have a chance.

Bucharest · 01/11/2009 14:36

They won't win anyway.
The only complete no-mark to have won was Leon.
The public does tend to see sense at the end.
(and even the Leon year, Simon made sure he also signed Rhyddian)

wannaBe · 01/11/2009 14:56

I disagree. If any of those acts have genuine talent, they don't have to win in order to make it. They can all be signed to record labels, and many of them are, and most never amount to anything - even the winners.

If it is all about talent then only talented acts should be allowed through to see the judges but that is not the case. So real talent could equally be missing out on the opportunity of being discovered because shite acts are being put through in order to entertain the public.

wannaBe · 01/11/2009 15:10

Steve Brookstein won too. And Simon cowel released him from his contract.
The only one to have done anything really is Leona lewis. Shane ward - where is he? Steve Brookstein singing in pubs somewhere, Leon Jackson... Alexandra Burke - time will tell.

Penthesileia · 01/11/2009 15:13

YABU, IMO for the sole reason that it is you that are demented for watching this royal pile of crap.

Perhaps the public have finally cottoned on to this fact and the support for a crap act is the ultimate post-modern gesture.

thesouthsbelle · 01/11/2009 15:16

who the heck was/is the scottish act who won?

MarsLady · 01/11/2009 16:19

And don't forget the original Idol, Will Young. He's done very well for himself. I would imagine Alexandra will as well.

MavisEnderby · 01/11/2009 16:28

oH have only seen this series once.

I am tiny weeny bit in love with the guy with the amazing Afro.

The twins cannot sing though, and show no discernable talent that I can see.

I can only assume it is young girls who are voting for them.

Bucharest · 01/11/2009 16:48

Leon Jackson is the Scottish one who won.
I believe he's also been dropped by his record label (or had to cancel his tour due to poor ticket sales)
Could well be back in Gap...(and has not left one behind in the music market)

AliGrylls · 01/11/2009 16:58

I see them as a bit like the musical version of Ant and Dec - cheesy and tasteless.

Could someone explain to me why Danyl is supposed to be so unpopular?

wannaBe · 01/11/2009 18:50

hmmm it seems

shayne ward
has also not done badly for himself.

bigchris · 01/11/2009 18:58

I cant stand Lucie 'I come from a small village in Wales' Jones
i think she is really arrogant
i like Danyl , i feel sorry for him

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 01/11/2009 19:56

I can't believe you lot are slagging off Ant and Dec! How could you ? How?

It's not the hormones.. no it's not.. no it's not.. ok it is

Plonker · 01/11/2009 19:58

I think they're entertaining

Disclaimer - I haven't voted for them yet

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/11/2009 21:43
