to get pissed off with my cleaner for building towers?

Yes - towers of books on my coffee table. I have 2 piles of books - you know the usual type of coffee table books.

She will polish it and then put the 2 piles into one big one. Then add newspapers and anything else she can lay her hands on.

I get home every night and put it back into 2 piles. She then changes it every day.

I measured it yesterday and 'the tower' was
20 inches high.

AIBU or do people have 'towers' on their coffee table?

Incidentally OP, if your DH does work for the firm is it slightly unwise to be alluding to it on an Internet forum where neither your IP or your computer is properly protected

BrokkenHarted · 31/10/2009 22:02

Again. Why can you sort out these piles? You know, put away? It is what we all do when things are getting piled up and unorganised.

hf128219 · 31/10/2009 22:02

Whoever said my poshness needed lifting - oh, how i laughed. Why would I want to do that?

The kilt came into the conversation because I said the cleaner needs to fine tune dh's work wear.

or your laptop probably has a web cam?

Go on, we want to see the incredibly posh house that requires 4 hours cleaning a day teetering 30" pile with out own eyes.

annh · 31/10/2009 22:03

Am now pondering what kind of close "blast" injuries one might be likely to get while dressed in lingerie .........

LetThereBeRock · 31/10/2009 22:03

Fine tune his kilt?

alwayslookingforanswers · 31/10/2009 22:03

OP has said in the past she works for HMRC and that she does investigative work - so I reckon she investigates people who are trying to get away with not paying their tax bill

fabhead · 31/10/2009 22:04

So why do you have magazines in your pile that you have no interest in and can't even remember the name of?

hf128219 · 31/10/2009 22:04

Work for the firm? The Royals?

oh, you see you didn't say "work wear" in your original post, you said "work stuff". Which I interpreted to be paperwork etc, hence the mention of the kilt was a bit confusing.

whomovedmychocolatecookie · 31/10/2009 22:07

That'd be a 'no' then.

Good stuff.

hf128219 · 31/10/2009 22:08

Very good always. I hang out at LHR with a big yellow glove

whomovedmychocolatecookie · 31/10/2009 22:14

annh - lots of people don't like wearing body armour because it makes it hard to move fast when you need to. Whereas if you can have something under your clothes which is close fitting it might be easier should you need to make a sharp exit.

Besides, who wants to be seen in body armour, it's so 2007.

whomovedmychocolatecookie · 31/10/2009 22:17

Big yellow glove - not the sort for rooting around for contraband in deep dark places I hope

hf128219 · 31/10/2009 22:18

Well at least there are no towers of shit - just piles

OP posts:
whomovedmychocolatecookie · 31/10/2009 22:21

haha! You are very funny (for a posho).

alwayslookingforanswers · 31/10/2009 22:22

PMSL

I just read the last 2 posts on this thread

clicked on active convo's and the first thread I saw

"Some bloody arseholes"

hf128219 · 31/10/2009 22:24

Shitty areseholes are more common

Think of me as being in Spooks.

foxinsocks · 31/10/2009 22:26

I hope you checked her passport

hf128219 · 31/10/2009 22:28

Cannot check all passports - they are all in a big 'tower'

I hate towers.

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 31/10/2009 22:30

bloody hell, she has more than one? you'll be turned over in the mail on sunday

KnottyLocks · 31/10/2009 22:30

still stuck on coffee table reads. Our current faves on display are Ben 10 Alien Force and The Mirror, surrounde by empty packets of trick or treating goodies.

Can I borrow your cleaner?

whomovedmychocolatecookie · 31/10/2009 22:32

Ah, I see, you are an actor, in a second rate depiction, with declining audience, who is shoehorning in totty to provide entertainment.

It all becomes clear.

Is is Mumsnet towers you hate, or do you have Rapunzel syndrome?

whomovedmychocolatecookie · 31/10/2009 22:33

I do not have a coffee table BTW - this seems to avoid this issue entirely.
