To be angry at being "checked out" by other dads on the school run?

I dread the school run, i'm not really stunningly beautiful or anything but do get looked at by other dads while they're waiting for their children -HOW BLOODY INAPPROPRIATE - what a bunch of desparados.
So I try to look as 'ordnary' as possible, maybe I should change schools [hmm}

You're not dizzimare coming back are you OP?

PurplePoppy · 19/10/2009 19:49

Do you live in the UK OP? If so try spending a bit of time living in the Gulf or Indian subcontinent if you want to see what being stared at all the time is really like...

MaggieBehaveOutGuising · 19/10/2009 19:50

All the dads at my DS school are rank not very good looking at all, I'd shite myself run a few yards to get away,......Oooo Lordy, to have them "check me out" I'd be just like the op and be udderly moortified

Biobytes · 19/10/2009 20:46

Perhaps they are not checking you out, but wondering how on Earth a child like you have children the same age as theirs.

thesunshinesbrightly · 19/10/2009 22:18

Can you imagine how the OP walks probley walking like a model down a catwalk and making sure the dad's a checking her out as she walks on by

showofhands blinder that one!!!!!

TheHerbs · 20/10/2009 19:39

Really strange OP.

What on earth makes them look at you?

You sound really paranoid tbh.

There are loads of dads at our school, none of them 'checks out' the mums - well not really - we're grown ups, it's more about conversation than who is wearing what.

What annoys me is the dad who does most of the childcare, moaning about his wife all the time. I fancied him for a while (not that I'd let it show) but then realised he was putting her down constantly, even in front of his son, and it's just not on

even though I agree she is slightly bonkers, it's still a shallow way to behave. He is off my 'fantasy' list now. (sad because he was the only one on it!)

scottishmummy · 20/10/2009 19:44

ach if op has a big heid and big tooshie, nae wonder they look

serves a social function, for the hit wi a shuvel mammies.stops folk looking at me them

gingernutlover · 20/10/2009 20:37

are you sure you haven't got your skirt tucked in your knickers?

or a sanitary towel stuck to your leg?

to be fair, i am a primary school teacher and one of the dad's winked at me recently, honestly he did and I really am not even average looking ha ha, must need glasses

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 20/10/2009 21:03

Somebody winked at me at school last week and I have been walking around since with an uneasy feeling that I was the source of amusement.

I don't think it was the day I had price labels stamped all down my bum and legs by DD.

chegirlknowswhereyoulive · 20/10/2009 21:09

I wish there were a few hot dads at my school. Its hard to see what they really look like what with all those facial tattoos.

Mind you most of the mums have them too.......

scottishmummy · 20/10/2009 21:11

do the dads have moustaches too or just the mums

purpleduck · 20/10/2009 21:39

I reckon the OP looks like thisthis...

But thinks she looks like this

ManicMother7777 · 20/10/2009 21:39

I would have been delighted if I'd been checked out by dads at the school gate.

Now I'm worried....what does that say about me?

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 20/10/2009 21:50

How do you 'know' anyway?

If I get looked at I never think I am being checked out. I just smile, at dads or mums. What is it that makes you think you are being 'checked out?', Perhaps I am missing something. If I am talking to someone at the school gates, I might find myself gazing in the direction of a parent approaching but am not 'checking them out'.

wildspinning · 20/10/2009 21:51

chegirlknowswhereyoulive · 20/10/2009 21:58

No scottish they tend to interfere with the piercings...

zebramummy · 20/10/2009 22:07

oh stop giving her such a hard time - i get checked out too btw. last year, it was by a sleazy, unattractive bloke who would start singing romantic songs and ogling as soon as he saw me - went on for many months. his son was in ds' nursery class though not friends. i know he was just doing it to me, as one day, i overtook him from behind and it started pretty much immediately. i basically ignored him but found it offensive on the occasion when it happened inside the nursery building when picking up ds as all the other parents could hear it at close range. i certainly did not lose any sleep over it and i am glad that his ds is older so wont be in ds' class in reception next year. i am an ex-model though not a beautifully preserved one in my opinion (quite a way forward from a size zero these days, lets just say). however, i suppose i am probably younger and more attractive than his wife (who was a lovely person btw).

even today, i changed my hairstyle a bit and put on a nice dress and i got a lingering look from Himbo-dad (don't know real name, don't care to know really) tho' i suspect he is thoroughly decent (as are most dads there) and never meant to look.

scottishmummy · 20/10/2009 22:12

are you black with white stripes or white with black stripes?is your real name Marty

yes, probably because you are one hot zebra as all the ole saggy tit mamas limp past. is himbo called Moto Moto in real life?

chegirlknowswhereyoulive · 20/10/2009 22:22

Who notices this stuff on the school run? I am half asleep or rushing to get to work. I have to concentrate so hard on getting DS to class in one piece with all lunch box, book bag, pe kit blardy blah intact, someone would need to trip me over with his todger to get my attention!
