Fuck sake.

New leather bag, new leather purse, sat nav, nintendo dsi, ?100, mp3 player, make up bag, new kids glasses (picked up today!), ebook, phone, driving license, debit/credit cards. Cunting fucksticks.

AND I can't find the home insurance docs to make sure I'm covered. Head is wrecked and I can't make head nor tail of the online policy booklet. AND cunting bastard useless bank aren't able to tell me if my debit card has been used until Monday. Cunts

YANBU. I had a bag stolen about 5 years ago and I still miss it . It was a brown leather Coach handbag that I got for £1 from a charity shop. I would headbutt the wanker who took it if I could.

Jujubean77 · 18/10/2009 13:08

I am so sorry for you . I had my favorite bag in the world stolen once, with my best purse in the world in it with other really sentimental stuff. It caused me so much sorrow I can't tell you. I still think about the bag to this day and feel sad as I had bought it with my first wage, a lovely Mulberry bag...aghhh.

people who do this are scum. Can't believe the bag was swiped from you in this way...your children's glasses OMG!

I once took my friend's mum out shortly after she lost her husband. We were at a craft day and someone ( not in our group) took her bag off the back of her chair and took her cards out of her purse and put it back in her bag. We were at the back of the room and we didn't notice them walk round although I had seen them by the door earlier. They were a dodgy looking young couple and I remember thinking that they looked out of place.Still can't work out how they managed it. Her bank alerted her when she ( aged 76) bought motorcycle accessories and had a spree in Toys R Us.
In her words " I'd rather give it away"

You'll be able to tell from your policy schedule if you are covered on your home insurance policy. You need to look for personal possessions cover which means you have cover for outside the home against loss.

Poor you. Hope you'll get some administrative answers tomorrow and find out that everything's covered.

I had my bag stolen once on the way to the airport, on my way to go on holiday to Thailand. The bastard took my passport, plane tickets, camera, phone, wallet, Gucci sunglasses and make up. I've never cried so hard when I discovered bag had gone.

I didn't go on holiday that day. Had to wait a few weeks to get a new passport etc .

glastocat when I first saw thread title I thought it OTT but quite understand your fury having read more.

No consolation - have never been in similar position (theft from person) but years ago in the mid-80s had the house broken into during the day. I had only been out for an hour, having lunch with a friend in the police, would you believe!

Returned home to find someone had spotted excess of milk (fridge was full and milkman had ignored request not to deliver more while my Mum was away on Norfolk Broads with an elder sister of mine).

Big pain being unable to contact her to identify what jewelry could be missing... thief used pillowcase as swag bag and went room by room through house... bastard!

mummyloveslucy · 18/10/2009 17:54

We were burgled on Valentines night a couple of years ago. They took two handbags, video camera, ipod and three phones. They dumped the most expensive bag as it was too distinctive in a wood at the end of our street. What annoyed me more than anything was that they bought 5 ringtones and of course I had to pay for them.

glastocat · 19/10/2009 14:57

Well it looks like the insurance will cover it, except I can't find receipts for most of it.

OP posts:
Hulababy · 19/10/2009 15:16

Hope you can sort some receipts. Is there any chance you can go to the bank to help with CC and bank statements showing the purchases - if you know when you got them, etc?

Really feel for you.

My bag was left in a taxi and 5 minutes later when i reported it, it has apparently disappeared from the taxi. Not sure how as he'd onyl just dropped us off and it wasn't the kind of place you'd have got a pick up from the street - and not enough time for him to get into town.

My bag was an expensive Longchamps one, had my Gucci watch in (had taken it off during the night as I often do), my mobile phone and a camera too IIRR. Luckily no purse or cards. As it was me that left rather than officially being stolen I couldn't claim

Also had by bag pickpocketted and my purse and my wallet full of cards stolen in a shop one Cristmas. They were at the bottom of my pram bag, which was attached to the pram, and I was holding the handles. I still have no idea how they took them without me knowing. Had no CC or bank cards over Christmas that year.

Hulababy · 19/10/2009 15:17

glastocat - I often have that kind of amount of stuff in my bag.

fattybumbum · 19/10/2009 15:29

I really feel for you.

When DH and I got married, we booked our honeymoon in the Lake District (we live in Manchester) and headed off by train. My purse was stolen out of my bag on the train so I had to cancel my card (account very unusually had thousands in it to pay for the reception etc) DH didn't have enough in his account to pay for our hotel so we had to return home. I sat and cried on the train while everyone moved away from the mad lady!

The robbers didn't get much as we got off the train and cancelled the card quite soon but they ruined what should have been one of the happiest days of our lives and it's hard to forgive the scumbags for that.
