To think its not ok to call your dd a stupid cow?

Just coming out of school and a child stepped in front of a car, her dad reacted by shouting 'YOU STUPID COW, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING!', the poor girl was so upset, i felt like giving her a hug, her dad continued to shout at her as she was crying.

AIBU in thinking this is no way to talk to a 6/7 year old.

I know he was shocked that his dd stepped out but the poor little mite was so upset.

This thread has just resolved 24 years of guilt for me. Out shopping with my then 5 year old, his beloved baseball cap was blown into the main road. He literally tore free of my grasp and chased after it. I ran after after him grabbed him and the cap, deposited them both on the opposite pavement and proceeded to tell him off. 'SILLY BOY, DO NOT EVER EVER DO THAT AGAIN'. Passing woman berated me saying it was my fault .

exactly midlandmum blimy i have told dd 2.6 years that she was a silly little girl and how she was naughty and berated her after she on purpose when i turned by back climbed into our very deep outdoor blowup pool, i was s%&£$% scared that she would drown and was reacting out of fear. Prior to this we have taught he not to go near the pool and not to climb over the cover but the cover we has was flimsy and just gave way. its no deflated and packed in the garage.
