To be annoyed that when i pay for my childrens bus fare it is not half as stated it should be! I pay £1.70 adult and i pay £1.15 for my 2 eldest children costing £4.00 when it is cheaper to actually get a taxi. (£3.00) to the same destination. Since when has £1.15 been half of £1.70???

Free bus travel for elderly people encourages them to keep going out when they might otherwise not, which helps them keep healthy, avoid depression and stay independent - which is why my dad (who will hopefully celebrate his 100th birthday next April) is still able to live in his own house & get about.

and not driving. Some of the elderly are a bit of a menace. (my mum for one)

Sorry bruffin, thought you meant bus fares, as per the thread...

£5 is for a peak-time child travelcard; it's £2 off-peak (zone 1-6), which I still think is not bad. Plus, I think up to 4 children can travel for £1 each if with an adult travelcard holder...

I really should work for tfl

If it makes you feel any better, I have family in hitchin (20 min train journey to kings x) and an adult day travelcard is £28!

Enjoy Norfolk- much more picturesque
