It has recently been pointed out to me that this is insane behaviour. Is this true?!

OP posts:
leothelioness · 02/09/2009 14:55

yes yabu there are so many more interesting things in life to do!

MamaG · 02/09/2009 14:56

I think ironin anything that can get away with not being ironed is insane

I spetn 20 minutes looking for my iron yesterday to iron on name tapes

Sunfleurs · 02/09/2009 14:56

YANBU, I iron everything except pants and socks.

JemL · 02/09/2009 14:57

I think you are slightly insane, but then I very rarely iron anything.

It is a reaction to my childhood when my mother was constantly fretting about the 5ft high ironing pile.

stellamel · 02/09/2009 14:58

if you want to, then go for it! personally I weep when I have to iron anything

My DDs CM irons everything including socks and knickers! crazy lady!

nickelbabe · 02/09/2009 15:04

you are totally insane.
only iron clothes that can be seen! (and that look creased)

except in the winter, it's nice to put on a vest that has just this minute been ironed.
yummy warm...

generalunrest · 02/09/2009 15:14

I've just done my ironing mountain (can I have a medal please??) and I can't think of anything worse than padding it out with vests!

But, like nickelbabe says, I must love my DD so much that I would put myself through the torture of ironing a toasty vest for her in the winter

crokky · 02/09/2009 15:51

It is totally insane

I don't ever iron anything for myself or DD or DS. I occasionally iron a shirt for DH (under duress!).

PacificDogwood · 02/09/2009 15:52

YANBU
You are insane .

Pikelit · 02/09/2009 15:55

Lordy! Iron VESTS? Do you employ a house-full of servants that allow you this wondrous indulgence? Stick the vests into the airing cupboard/over your Rayburn/on the radiator (whatever instant source of warmth available) but don't get the iron out. Apart from anything else it knocks the life out of them.

Morloth · 02/09/2009 15:56

Yup, madness. But I iron sheets so who am I too talk.

diddl · 02/09/2009 15:59

Sunfleurs you don´t iron pants?
Shame on you!

diddl · 02/09/2009 16:00

pjmama

Are they creased?

GreatBallsOfFluff · 02/09/2009 16:02

YANBU - I can't put a vest on DD without it being ironed. It's the same with pyjama's and nighties

Pikelit · 02/09/2009 16:04

My former MIL wasn't content with ironing pants. Socks got the full treatment too.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 02/09/2009 16:04

I iron everything except for pants and socks.

I love it when I go in their drawers and everything looks clean and ironed. {saddo I know!}

GoAwayMrWappy · 02/09/2009 16:06

No YANBU I always ironed my DCs vests. Couldn't bear the thought of them being even slightly 'crispy' against their perfect skin. Don't care if that's sad.

I don't iron pants but my MIL does.

mummyloveslucy · 02/09/2009 16:06

I iron vests. If you've got the iron on, you might as well. It's nice to wear everything crease free.

summerisover · 02/09/2009 16:07

....er..yes....

GoAwayMrWappy · 02/09/2009 16:07

I also iron duvet covers (although not sheets as these stretch out on the bed) as I love the feel of it when you get into that freshly made bed - yummmmm.

belgo · 02/09/2009 16:09

Complete waste of electricity.

mummyloveslucy · 02/09/2009 16:09

I think it's more insane not to iron anything. If you've spent time and money buying clothes, surely you want them to look their best.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 02/09/2009 16:09

ooh yes fresh ironed bed linen! lovely

leothelioness · 02/09/2009 16:10

I iron stuff that will show which means t-shirts, trousers, shorts etc both mine, dcs and dh shirts etc but never ever ever knickers or socks and vests and I don't iron sheets but if it makes you happy then keep ironing.

norktasticninja · 02/09/2009 16:11

YABU. 'tis a senseless waste of time and electricity.
