OP posts:
scottishmummy · 12/08/2009 20:14

they are both good looking

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 12/08/2009 20:27

Two (well, three) words

Photoshop
Tummy-tuck

OK, and four: luck

Lizzylou · 12/08/2009 20:29

See, Fluffles, I am tall too and she didn't look especially tall (5ft 10/11?), but I still looked about 4x the size of her

scottishmummy · 12/08/2009 20:31

Two (well, three) words

routine
rigour
ab-crunch

OK, and four: smashing

lovechoc · 12/08/2009 20:34

good luck to her, she's one of the very few new mums who can look that way so quickly after her baby.

being in the spotlight, I suppose she has to get into shape fairly quickly anyway. love her new DD's name!

NaccetyMac · 12/08/2009 20:40

I snapped back into shape straight after all three of mine. Sadly, it was a sort of jelly/ melted blancmange shape. But still, it was instant!

wrinklytum · 12/08/2009 20:43

She looks fab,lucky thing.

I am still chuckling at "Miffed, from Dorset"'s comment at the bottom, though.

MummyDragon · 13/08/2009 20:31

I don't find it sickening or annoying.

She looks lovely. She looks soooo happy - good for her! And beautiful. And great boobs too . I'm not surprised Vernon posted it on Twitter. I would, if a) I was male and b) my wife looked like that!

She looked gorgeous when she was preggers too.

Some people do snap back into shape quickly after giving birth. I did, both times, without dieting or exercising, and I am sick and tired of apologising for it to friends who didn't! It's not my fault - it is genetics, as many have already said. I didn't do it to annoy/upset/spite people - it just happened. It happens to lots of people, but because they don't moan about it, people think that it only happens to a small minority of people, usually slebs, when in fact it is reasonably common.

Wish I could have kept my pregnancy-sized boobs though ...

beanieb · 13/08/2009 20:36

She looks good, I don't see what the problem is.

I wonder who took the photo though?

DrNortherner · 13/08/2009 20:37

I heart Tess and Vernon, I think they are a lovely couple. It's no big acheivemnet she looks liek this - she is just one of those women who do it very easily.

She looks good, lets not hate her for that.

beanieb · 13/08/2009 20:40

Also - why the shock at a 38 year old mother of two looking like that? Some 50 year olds still look like that. I noticed this article about Helena Christensen. They talk about 40 as if it's ancient or something.

LovelyTinOfSpam · 13/08/2009 20:47

No probs with her.

But as for DM "Presenter Vern's pride was certainly justified. Tess's slim and unlined stomach shows no evidence of her recent pregnancy." Disgraceful.

No wonder women have body ishoos. Any sign that you have given birth is apparently an understandable matter of shame for your DP? FFS.

deepdarkwood · 13/08/2009 20:48

Agree beanieb - when you're mid waterfight the last thing you do is just grab a quick camera and get a wonderful, flatterning shot- whole thing is clearly a set up.

BUT as others have said, she looks great - due I'm sure to a mix of good luck and hard work...

Sickening and annoying? Disproportionally strong words to use about a woman who's done nothing other than loose a bit of post-baby weight.

mj4ever · 13/08/2009 20:51

she looks great. well done to her, i wish i looked like that.

FlightHattendant · 13/08/2009 20:54

It's luck.

I don't care about hER looking nice, what I care about is the bloody stupid attitude of the press that this is something to be ADMIRED Fgs. This is obv how all of us OUGHT to look and if we don't, of course we are crap, rubbish women who don't deserve to be loved or respected or God forbid anyone to be proud of us

Sickening article and I still can't believe people on MN read this shite

FlightHattendant · 13/08/2009 20:55

And that people are doing exactly what the fecking DM want them to, and blaming/having a bitch about her, ie women turning on each other rather than turing on the misogynist shiteheads who write this drivel.

picmaestress · 13/08/2009 20:57

She'll be going to the gym for a couple of hours a day. Seriously, there's no magic formula, it's just her looking after her career, and she'll have someone to look after her kids while she exercises.
I don't know anyone in the real world who looks like this a few months after birth. Well, maybe one, but she's got an eating disorder

academicallyTormented · 13/08/2009 21:01

Genetically she's been blessed with a great body, however I've had the pleasure of meeting her (I was on a quiz show on ITV called 'Britain's Brainiest Kids' which she hosted the heats for) She was constantly asking the producer/director bloke what the question meant, how she pronounced this etc.
To be fair she was lovely to us (the contestants) and my mum was very happy she kept saying how cute my outfit was. At twelve the last thing I wanted to look was 'cute'!

MammyT · 13/08/2009 21:02

I have no problem with her looking this slim as some do indeed just PING back into shape with the smallest amount of effort.

But I object to her looking so GROOMED - perfect highlights, no body hair in evidence, not even stubble marks on her bikini line.. That's the wonder of this story.

FlightHattendant · 13/08/2009 21:09

I looked like this...both my best friends did too.
Well roughly...still got dodgy thighs but basically went back pretty quick. No gym, just sheer dumb luck.

I can't see why any one of us would have a 'problem' with her looking like she does - wtf? Like she ought to try and look terrible just to support the side.

It's not deliberate probably. We ought just to accept each other as we are and IGNORE this lazy journalism that tries to get us at each other's throats then laughs about us. Don't fall for it.

scottishmummy · 13/08/2009 21:16

this isn't lazy journalism DM said she looked great.OP said "this picture of Tess Daly sickening and annoying..."

VinegarTits · 13/08/2009 21:22

She looks fab, op sounds jealous to me

FlightHattendant · 13/08/2009 21:25

SMI totally dispute that - how can writing about One woman's body post pregnancy not be lazy? Why is it newsworthy in any way? It's crass, patronising, and very very dull.
plus it makes some people feel terrible about the way they don't match up - its basically an article saying 'look, you ought to look like this too, isn't she clever' when clever has nothing to do with it.

scottishmummy · 13/08/2009 21:34

the DM were affirmative to tess only the op had the hump. go ask her what she found sickening and annoying
