TO HAVE TOLD THE TRUTH, IN MY OPINION?

a single friend is joining a dating agency and wanted my view on how attractive she is and how i would describe her figure. out of her list of options i said she was curvy and average looking. shes now not speaking to me because of this.
am i being unreasonable in thinking she wanted a truthful answer i gave her one and now shes offended.

Blimey if your attractiveness is rated on the number of shags you've had, then i am damn ugly

what a charming friend you are

I would have said 'friendly' and with a figue like Marilyn Monroe.

did youhave to pick from options or pluck a word out of the air?

it depends on the options though, doesn't it? If they were 'the most gorgeous person in any room; average looking; or needs two bags in case the first falls off', then average is fine! Maybe you should tell her you're deeply insecure and consider yourself to look like an untreated leper next to her, so due to your own self confidence issues, the best you would ever describe yourself as is average, so you applied your own 'values' to her too?

however, at least you didn't go the route my mum took when describing me as 'plain and rotund', when she (claims) she meant 'average and curvy' luckily my DP disagrees with my mother's assessment, which was offered to us at a family get together a couple of years ago for no apparent reason.
