I am sick of it now, I want to do some gardening but it is so wet. Dd is having a little party on Sunday, as if it is not bad enough that her best friend can't come it will probabl rain all day and we are using the garden.

I also have a moat developing at the front of my house, need wellies to go anywhere.

I agree, sick of it too. We moved back to the UK three years ago and this is the third crap summer in a row. So...thinking of buggering off again! DH has taken two weeks off and we had lots of days out planned but it's been a bit of a washout. It make me feel out of sorts. Still at least we don't have swine flu (yet!)

Well done Riven. Did you walk all the way there and back? What was stuck to you? The dcs?

Well I'm hoping for an Indian Summer. I arrive in the UK on 3rd September from Oz for the fist time in two years! I was slightly envious for the two weeks or so where you got a heatwave and it was (is) Winter here - I remembered the gorgeous long Summer evenings sitting in a proper beer garden (Australia doesn't do real pubs) when it was light until 10pm (it gets dark really early here, even in Summer) but now I see that our weekly Winter temperatures pretty much match the UK Summer ones - typically just as the kids break up for the holiday. Why can't there be a country with English pubs, light until late with Australian weather and similarly laid back attitude to going out with kids!!!!! (or is it called Spain )

AnyFucker · 30/07/2009 10:25

sunny, you will be fine

it is guaranteed to be warm and sunny from around 7th Sept

when the kids go back to school
