To think this sort of dogging is just not on

I opened my bedroom curtains this morning to see two cars pull up at village hall opposite, both with large fitted dog crates in the back. Though nothing of it to begin with as they do hold dog shows there sometimes. Looked back a short while later to see 2 females standing by as male assisted 2 boxer dogs to mate, followed by frantic doggie humping in full view of public - including children walking to village shop. Male then held both dogs whilst they were "tied" and I went over to ask if they had permission to be through the gate on the village hall lawn - they said they didn't need it and when I took their registration numbers to report them the rather posh looking middle aged lady, who seemed to own the bitch swore at me and told me to get a sex life!! This was obviously a commercial transaction and I really can't understand why they would want to conduct it in such a way, wouldn't have been offended by a couple of strays having a bonk but this made me really cross.

I am guessing the op didnt grow up in the country where seeing animals mating was pretty common place.

duchesse · 20/07/2009 10:39

The two owners were probably meeting half way between their two houses. I don't think you can "do" dogs for public indecency. I think YABU frankly.

Dd often sees our 2 male dogs mating each other.(and they've been done).

Pikelit · 20/07/2009 10:57

It's important not to assume that dog's take the same view on sex as humans. They don't have any respect for each other and care little for formal introductions. Sometimes they don't even know each other's names, fgs!

As a supervisor of dog sex, I can reliably report that the tie isn't a painful experience. If it were, dogs would have become extinct long ago! However, females are unpredictable and do have a habit of wanting to wander around with the male still attached. The male, in my experience, thinks the whole experience is the mutts nuts but at the point of the tie tends to look at you with a puzzled "how did I end up facing this way?" expression.

I live in the country. Country children grow up watching bestiality. It does them no harm at all.

But I'm still surprised that anyone wants to mate their dogs somewhere so public. It's not responsible breeding and I wouldn't be wanting any of the pups from such a casually arranged event.

Sorry Pikelet - is that your job - Supervisor of Dog Sex! Do you put it on official forms?

Think it would be a good opportunity to launch into the birds and the bees talk with young kids if they saw this. So YABU not such a big issue - whereas if it were Stan Collymore or another Z lister this post would have been far more interesting!

undermilkwood · 08/04/2011 09:27

sorry, YABU. They are dogs! get over it for gods sake!

This thread is....2 years old!

Febreeze, I know, but after all that time, I'm still goggling at the ole lady telling the OP to get a sex life.

Was it an invitation to breed? Confused

whitevanwoman · 08/04/2011 09:39

i think the male dog was almost certain to have been controlling and abusing the female. Bitch should have kicked him to the kerb.

Best line ever! (Unless of course bestiality really does mean animals shagging each other)

DD and I were waiting to leave Tesco in Bangkok. A couple of dogs had the audacity to start shagging in broad daylight. DD asked me what was going on, I told her they were having a wheelbarrow race. She then asked me why one was grinning, I said she was laughing.

Tesco in Bangkok?? Tesco really do rule the world Shock
