Singersgirl - it was the 1976 flu outbreak I was referring to - some info here

Pitchounette: since you asked

Efficiency of vaccines would probably be tested by comparing vaccinated/unvaccinated people in the same area. Look up medical notes of a random couple of thousand vaccinated people, and a random group of non-vaccinated. See how many of group A have had the disease compared to group B.

A really good site for comparing the effectiveness of any medical treatment is the cochrane database, it allows access to more detailed evidence than a layperson would be allowed anywhere else, and a decent summary too. For example here is one on the pneumococcal vaccine.

Ah, well, that is certainly not the last major flu epidemic, nor indeed the last flu vaccine.

In fact, it sounds like a very minor outbreak if infections were not detected outside Fort Dix and only between January 19th and February 9th. Obviously there was a major problem with the vaccine, but that was 33 years ago.. 40,000,000 people received it. Clearly nowhere near as many people as 40,000,000 actually got ill from the disease.

I think that's a less than useful comparison.

Sorry - I should have qualified that it was the last swine flu outbreak I was referring to.
I think there are definite parallels in that outbreak with the press scaremongering / frenzied reporting occurring now. Some commentary on what happened then
And the consequences of rushing out a vaccine that were seen then need to be heeded now.

Has anyone ever researched the occurrence of certain diseases in vaccinated against unvaccinated populations?

Also why has there never been a study on this? Shall I tell you what I think... No better not. Don't want to get shot around the festive season, tis a time to be jolly and all that.. However vaccinated children still get these diseases they are vaccinate dagainst, that is a fact!

Fact: Swine flu is in most people a mild virus which our bodies are perfectly adapted to getting over with a normal functioning immune system. But due to the historic levels of scaremongering in the Media and stockpiles of would be worthless vaccines we are pressured to believe otherwise.

Do your own research and make up your own mind as to the risks. Only now are reports coming in for the real side effects of the vaccine especially in the ?high risk? groups pregnant women being up there. But these are considered coincidences as they would lower the level of people taking up vaccinations. It is a scary business this vaccinating when we get down to the ?real? motives! But most of us are sheep so it won't pose a problem. It?s your body, so your risk. You have to live with the consequences either way. Don't allow yourself to be bullied or patronised into going against your instincts. If you are in tune with them, they are there to guide you.

Take care all. To health and happiness in 2110

2110??? Are you a time traveller?

I am not going to get this for my DD (3.2)

Whoops! No I don't think we'll be around then. Maybe 2010 is better.
