Asked to be signed off for a week on Monday morning, to have IVF this week. Asked for it to be in my maiden name and not to mention IVF at all. I do not want work to know I am married or trying for a baby as I would be sacked.
I've gone in to collect it today.
In the name of Mrs xyz and for gyno procedure, am steaming did not need this crap today.

Madame, is the first year thing still the case now the govt. has created specific statutory procedures that employers have to go through when they discipline or dismiss anyone?

I know it used to be true, but not sure whether the introduction of the newish regulations has changed that.

Not 100% sure edam. But I think the disciplinary procedures are not statutory in the first year. But this is where expert advice comes in. ACAS all the way!

The company I work for made me take holiday, as IVF is an elective procedure. I know of a few places that now have IVF policies as it's becoming more common. A few people I know have been signed off as you're doing and their sick notes haven't stated IVF specifically.

There are lots of things which could come under "gynae", so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I hope it all goes well and you get a positive result. I know how stressful it is.
