to be cross with my husband for missing dd1's 1st Sports Day for a concert?

Bearing in mind that this band is his favourite ever and he usually sees them 4 times per tour nowadays, the tickets were booked months ago and he has to go up to London with other people.

I'm disappointed that he's chosen to miss dd1's 1st ever school Sports Day so that he can get to Wembley early enough to get a good position.

I think he'll regret it but am I just being over-sentimental? Personally I wouldn't let anything come between me and my daughter's 1st school sports day.

This being my 1st school sports day too I don't know if he'd be "expected" to be there. Do all your partners turn up for sports days, no matter what?

I'm not sure how to approach the subject without making him feel really bad - what would you say?

DH would only miss an event for the dc's if he really can't get away from work.

I'd be pissed off. He can surely see dd1 then go off to the concert?

My ds's liked me going to see them at school plays etc. I always felt sorry for the lo's looking for their parents who didn't do 'boring school stuff' the dc were in.

God no - in that case, you are being reasonable. I would rather go to sports day AND the flute concert AND the summer fayre AND the parents' quiz organised by the PTA AND sow and tell AND eat my own eyeballs than see Take That.

SHow and tell - though I'd choose the sow over Take That as well.

god I would rather see Pete Doherty sing live than go to Sports day, I was v. grateful that Sports day got cancelled after being rained off twice. yanbu to be peeved that he's missing the Sports day to go down early to get better seats though, that would irk me a bit.
