to be thinking of telling DH via email that I'm pregnant?

Quite possibly am. But I'm just sooooo excited - got a v faint positive first thing this morning but was a dodgy pound shop test so didn't want to tell him. Got a clear blue from the chemist a bit later and it's definitely a BFP. He's working really long hours at the moment and we've got an uncle staying tonight so might not have a chance to talk to him until really, really late.

Could do phone but thought it might be fun to tell him via email - in an inventive way that I haven't yet thought up. Or maybe not? Your thoughts please...

I had to tell my DP that I was pregnant over the phone while he was walking to work in the middle of a busy street (and the baby wasn't planned). He used to live in another city from me for work reasons, so I only got to see him every other weekend or so. I'd been feeling really rough for about a week and one of my friends had persuaded me to do a test. So I texted him the night before and told him to wait at home in the morning because I was going to do a pregnancy test and phone him (I was trying to avoid having to tell him while he was in his open-plan office). It seems that he didn't get the text, so he was walking to work and very surprised when I phoned him. When the test came back positive he just laughed and said congratulations. Then he decided to make arrangements to come and see me.

It wasn't the ideal way to tell him, to be honest.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS

I told my DP on phone, had been TTC for 8 years and was complete surprise after having fertility treatment. Sent him a text to call me ASAP from work and he was flabbergasted. I couldnt wait til he got home, was bursting to tell him. He was so excited and did say it turned a crappy day into one of the best in his life!

He came home early and I asked him too go to chemist to buy another test on way home, just to be sure so we ended up doing 4 different tests on the same day, ironically it was April 1st so I didnt want him to think it was a cruel wind up, not that I would anyway.

We waited til after our dating scan to tell everyone else, was a nightmare but we coped just about.

Love the idea of a bump card arriving early though!

Again congratulations!

Sorry ladies, not been online for a while. Resisted the temptation to tell him by email and by chance he came back from work early so I told him I had a little surprise for him upstairs and handed him a gift-wrapped HPT. He was soooo surprised and really, really excited.

Then after a few minutes he looked a bit apprehensive and asked which bit I'd wee-ed on?!

We did another one together this morning just to make sure it wasn't a freak HPT. It wasn't!

Well done for waiting!! There's nothing like those first few moments

LOL - you already have a child with this man, he's been through pregnancy & birth and a shed load of nappies - and he's funny about which bit you wee'd on....

I know!? - he almost dropped the HPT when the thought occurred to him. But then he almost passed out at the 12-week scan last time (it was very hot in the room apparently...) But weirdly was able to watch the ECS. No rhyme or reason.
