P&t parking threads make me sarcastic.

the 'oh haven't things changed threads' make me simultaneously nod in agreement and want to poke the op with a sharp stick

in jokes make me boak - yes i mean you peguin and pirate mentioners.

i no longer give a shite about blw, bfing or potty training.

all i have left are camping and style & beauty.

sigh!

yy ronald, I too try v hard not to post just No, or 4

Tis v tempting tho

Dumbledoresgirl · 13/06/2009 20:48

I tell you what I remember ad nauseam - no pun intended: all those wretched threads asking how you remove the smell of vomit from soft furnishings. I wish I could have had a tenner for every time I told MN about my vinegar solution.

pointydog · 13/06/2009 20:49

I cannot abide the neighbour/tree-cutting threads. I am becoming very terse on thiose ones.

Dumbledoresgirl · 13/06/2009 20:50

Actually, I can't stand "what are you having dinner?" threads the most. WTH is that all about? If I said I am having spag bol, are you the OP, going to rush out and buy some mince?

DeepGoat · 13/06/2009 20:50

yes i am increasingly terse.

It's inevitable. Parental concerns don't change, hang out here a couple of years and you've seen the lot. Round and round they go. My complaint is how centrist it's become, doesn't seem to be much fun any more, all v conformist and humourless. Prob as has become more mainstream. Need to share the love AND the fucking laughs.

pointydog · 13/06/2009 20:51

All the sad-ass favourite mnetters threads have me itching to post. I think I have resisted so far. Most of the time anyway

pointydog · 13/06/2009 20:52

how conformist?

DeepGoat · 13/06/2009 20:52

mns has been fantastic when i need advice on bf or where to buy 'non character' nighties for dd that don't turn her into a human firelighter.

maybe i have consumed all the knowledge, maybe i am about to be transformed into a ball of light and ascend into some higher being?

OP posts:
hullygully · 13/06/2009 20:53

Pd, yes, why this hankering for recognition from anonymous internet avatars..Tis weird.

hullygully · 13/06/2009 20:56

Pd - conformist as in immediate knee-jerk unthoughtout reaction in line with current received thinking. eg woman says fancies 17 year old man...everyone goes all prim pants: it's WRONG. They're children. What if it were the other way round etc,,,Why shouldn't/wouldn't old people of either gender fancy young flesh of any gender/ species etc?

Oh god that's a bad eg I sound really weird now. But I still think it.

scottishmummy · 13/06/2009 20:57

hate the MN oscars everyone jostling to see if they get a mention

but i did learn porridge oats in tights, hanging over bath tap for eczema and it worked a wee treat

DeepGoat · 13/06/2009 20:57

mn knowledge checklist

mooncups are good
cods potty bootcamp
school run dresses
why uggs are on the whole a bad thing
maclarens are the pushchairs of choice
{sound of angels}
combing is the only effective way to de-nit
what to buy and what not to buy at lidl
{lifting to mns heaven}
good bye cruel world

OP posts:
Ronaldinhio · 13/06/2009 21:01

the thing that seems weird about those oscar nigh love ins is that they always include loads of names I've never even seen before...usually starting with the op

That's when I conclude that the blw and brilliant baby threads have more than a few members

Or am I so self obsorbed that there are more mumsnetters than I can possibly know?

Ronaldinhio · 13/06/2009 21:03

you won't pass St Peter's steely glare if you can't win on a Jade Goody /Jordan/Princess Die thread

watches DeepGoat fall back to earth

scottishmummy · 13/06/2009 21:03

but that is the beauty of MN a huge critical mass of burds with pc

Nappyzoneisabeetrootrunner · 13/06/2009 21:08

try some new ones - i tried aibu for a week and lasted 2 days i couldnt bare it, then i triedthe housey cleaning one which enabled me to clean bits of my house more but then i just felt more guilty as it highlighted the sht hole it is. Now i am embracing running threads as my new hobby flourishes. Soon be time for xmas threads again

DeepGoat · 13/06/2009 21:10

running thread is good but i do worry that i am too slow and all the speedy super fast ones highlight my angst.

i did have a lovely run with a mner thanks to the running thread.

btw i am not critising mn. i just think i am not in a mn 'place' right now.

DeepGoat · 13/06/2009 21:11

OP posts:
DeepGoat · 13/06/2009 21:14

omg - the chicken threads are teh limit! apols to chuck lovers but all the 'omg a fox has eaten all mychickens' threads bring out my inner farmer. tsk, get yourselves some proper fencing and stop dabbling

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 13/06/2009 21:15

you just need to go away and come back imo

DeepGoat · 13/06/2009 21:17

yes fox, i fecked off about 100 people on mn today time to depart for a while methinks.

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 13/06/2009 21:24

nah you're probably not fucking people off. But there's a saying about a break being as good as something or other but I can't remember it lol.

What I do know is having a break is always quite refreshing.

DeepGoat · 13/06/2009 21:39

bless you all, so long and thanks for all the mooncups!
