Yes.. heinous "Thread about a Thread" crime, lol... but seriously...

AIBU to think people should either opt out of the leafleting or just shut up and throw them in the bin if they're not interested?

Ah, different bin collecting notifications around the country. Interesting, lol

We get an A5 laminted colour coded calendar thing with punch holes for safe keeping in a folder (if you're that organised). Fancy schmancy That's why our county has the worst roads in the UK, cos they spend all the money on bin leaflets!! Grr!

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/05/2009 13:32

StripeyOss are you for real?

StripeyOss · 21/05/2009 13:32

and i'm not saying the leaflets aren't a pile of shit.. because they ARE, but i have these things called arms, legs, a brain and own a contraption called a bin.

Its not difficult to co-ordinate the first few to put the leaflet in the last one.

Its not Royal Mails place to pick and chose who they do the Door-to-Door for else they'll get done for discrimination.

So - waiting to be educated Stripeyoss - can't wait to hear you convince me that you are not a vile racist ? (assuming that you are indeed a member of the BNP) lol lol lol.

MIFLAW · 21/05/2009 13:37

StripeyOss

Sinn Fein (though, incidentally, themselves a racist organisation, so I am told - never read their manifesto) do not have terrorism as a policy.

Greenpeace, likewise, do not have graverobbing as a stated policy or aim.

The BNP have explicitly racist policies.

Before you challenge me on that, I should define my terms. By racist I mean "discriminating or otherwise distinguishing on the basis of race and/or skin colour."

Therefore, it's not the same at all.

The BNP are racists.

Admittedly, whether or not you can call that "vile" depends on whether you like racists or not.

pingping · 21/05/2009 13:37

The BNP are racists I can't imagine how any member of the BNP arn't as if thats the case they wouldn't believe in any of there policies. UKINP are just as bad I swear theres and the BNP's Leaflets are the same just different colour scheme and name

Rhubarb · 21/05/2009 13:38

StripeyOss, when a leading member of the BNP says that far from moaning about rape, women should enjoy it because it's just sex. That getting your handbag swiped is more inconvenient than being raped and that working women is what is wrong with this country - then I kinda assume that his views are endorsed by the other leading members of that party.

The BNP are not only racist twats, they are also evil cunts.

Prove me wrong.

Come on StripyOss, I want you to help me sort out my 'issues'.

Everyone in the BNP is racist. They join because they are racist. It's a racist organisation. I think racists are vile.

StripeyOss · 21/05/2009 13:45

Yes I am.. i know quite a few people who Vote BNP and aren't racist AT ALL.. they're just currently concerned about immigration and the laws around employment of foreign labour.

FWIW i dont agree with them or their policies, but i do think its wrong to make a sweeping generalisation about 'vile racists'

OP posts:
StripeyOss · 21/05/2009 13:46

yes i am serious btw.. not a member of BNP.. wow.. talk about bad posting time

OP posts:
Rhubarb · 21/05/2009 13:46

Here is a link.

Actually, calling them a cunt was inappropriate and out of order. I apologise to all cunts and twats out there for tarnishing them with the BNP party.

Rhubarb · 21/05/2009 13:48

Stripey - do those people who are voting BNP have any idea what their other policies are? Have they done their research at all? Do they know what policies they would be supporting?

They have very strong views on things other than immigration. I suggest you enlighten your 'friends'.

No, no intended undertone AT ALL.. i am just having a gripe about people who moan about the royal mail leafleting.

I just dont like broad sweeping generalisations.. i'm not saying for one minute the BNP headmen arent vile racists, because its been proven that they are, frequently.. i'm saying not everyone who votes for them is.

From experience of talking to people around here who vote BNP these days, they tend to try and ignore the racist side of it just to try and make a miguided point about so many local jobs going to immigrant workers when there are so many companies going bust or making redundancies.

THe BNP bandwagon have grabbed the "British jobs for British workers" ideal by both horns and its attracting them a lot of support in my area.

OP posts:
MIFLAW · 21/05/2009 13:59

Stripey - it is my understanding that, like the FN in France, the immigration policies of the BNP are explicitly racist in that they distinguish between European and non-European immigrants.

Ergo, anyone who endorses the BNP's policy on immigration is a racist, whatever they think of the other policies.

fishie... who's said 'best friends'???

I havent.. i happen to work in a pub a the weekend and a lot of the customers talk politics over a few pints.

Just recently with UKIP and the impending EU voting the subject of them and the BNP has cropped up in conversation quite frequently, we've been leafleted too.

OP posts:
MIFLAW · 21/05/2009 14:02

Shineon - I think maybe Stripey meant that they are "concerned" in the sense that hitler was "concerned" about the jewish question, Pol Pot was "concerned" about intellectuals and Stalin was "concerned" about the spread of free market enterprise.

KingRolo · 21/05/2009 14:04

Stripey - you are on a hiding to nowhere with this.

From the BNP website:

"we call for an immediate halt to all further immigration, the immediate deportation of criminal and illegal immigrants, and the introduction of a system of voluntary resettlement whereby those immigrants who are legally here will be afforded the opportunity to return to their lands of ethnic origin assisted by a generous financial incentives both for individuals and for the countries in question."
