and now DS said to me the other day, "I am going to the loo. I might be a while, just like Papa" as he headed off with his Spiderman comic tucked under his arm.

He is only 4yo and already conditioned into the long loo stop.

On this topic I have my own little AIBU question. (Though TBH I know I was being pretty unreasonable I was just so annoyed at the time!)

I was waiting for an internet order parcel to arrive for Christmas and if you don't answer the door for parcel they go to the central post office place which is a nightmare to get to. You also have to wait two days to pick it up and I really wanted it asap. So I asked DP (who had a day off) to make sure he stayed in until parcel arrived (postman comes at about 11am and DP had nothing urgent to do). When I arrived home I asked if the parcel had arrived he said yes, but he'd been doing his poo and hadn't been able to answer the door. Now, if I didn't know that he sits in there for 30-40 mins I would have been sympathetic, but as it was I threw a wobbly and said he should have waited until after the postman had been! In the end I apologised and he kindly went and picked the parcel up for me, so no harm done, but he does every now and then sarcastically ask my permission to go to the loo!

Yeah I agree with Cote, he's probably having a wank.

Our DD's normally at least 10 minutes. She keeps a regularly changing pile of books on the loo floor.
