Do any of you spend a night or two away from home on your own??

Hi all,
So my hubby, who now and again goes away on business, is now away on business for three nights. He sits there last night on the phone telling me how he hates being away from home and wishes he didnt have to go away on business.

Well there I was thinking, I would give my right arm to spend just one night away from all of this, ie; children( aged 2,4&6), cooking cleaning, laundry, school run, potty training, night waking, ah um... my husband too, etc, etc. Just one bleeding night!!! You wouldnt get me complaining!

Am I wrong to think this?? I mean hear I am wanting to spend a night on my own away from my beloved children and darling husband. I can only imagine that my DH would take exception to me saying I wanted a night away from him.

Does anyone else have the same feelings OR actually act on them??

I was away last night at my friends house - it was bliss, the 2 1/2 hour drive there and back wasn't so great, but well worth it. I try to do it every couple of months. My dh doesn't mind - he has to go to the occasional conference and I have to put up with his parents staying when they visit - so I think it's fair

I work 24-hour on -call duty once a week and, while I could be up all night I found it far more peaceful than being at home with the kids when they were smaller and woke up several times a night. At lease when I work I get paid every time I'm woken up to see a patient!

Yes - I had 2 nights away in Oxford on my own in February, that was my birthday present. I have also just had a night in London.

I have about 3 weekends on my own every year with the girls
me and dh have about one night a year just us two in a nice hotel while inlaws look after dcs
well we've done it twice but I'm hoping it might become a yearly thing
