To throw ALL our dirty nappies (in bags) in public bins on a daily basis?

Rather than chuck them in our normal bin at home?

I'm suddenly intrigued with burning them on the fire - surely the wetness makes them smoke uncontrollably and sets all the alarms off whilst failing to burn away at all??

blimey i have had 15 months of three kids in nappies (and looks like it will continue for a while yet...) and a rubbish collection that is only every fortnight and i still wouldn't do this! Love your posts though biscuitstuffer they made me laugh.

I must confess that I was eyeing up all the skips in the area rather longingly today...

As a childminder I get through at least 12 nappies a day. ( I did try cloth, but very uncooperative parents)
I asked the council for a larger wheelie bin as we have fortnightly collection. They offered me a free nappy collection service, which basically consists of special sacks collected with my household rubbish.

I just bought another black bin, which I put the special sack in and tie it up once a fortnight. Great service!

You can use flushable liners in disposable nappies, and flush away the poo. Even unpooey (sp!) disposable nappies are smelly though. Personally, I find cloth nappies far more convenient

Biscuitstuffer, once you've got a good log fire blazing away the nappies are incinerated in about 2 minutes - no smoke left behind.
