as you were ladies.

OP posts:
llandb · 01/05/2009 00:11

I fear someone else may have to sus that one though I shall remain awake many hours pondering!

Meanwile, WIBU to run away with my awfully dishy friend?

'Night, all

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/05/2009 00:17

Ah, you spoony old thing!

Things at school seemed so "ozard" we felt we had no choice.

Night all!

llandb · 01/05/2009 07:34

Well I couldn't take the cat's fiddling or the little dog's laughing any more (hangs head)

llandb · 01/05/2009 12:42

Where is everyone?

Perhaps they agree that I would not BU to dislike company?

Pogleswood · 01/05/2009 12:55

Ooh,you are all still here! Moomin,if/when you return to school are you likely to be called 'a silly little boy'?? (and what was your previous book please, even after all the clues I have absolutely no idea...)
I am an orphan, and have been sent to live with my uncle in the country.AIBU to look at the young men in the vicinity, and get the awful feeling that I am destined to be romantically involved with ALL of them?
More clues,llandb?

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/05/2009 13:19

Hi Pogle, yes, I fear Old Wilkie is likely to get into one of his famous 'bates' with us.

The last one was "Cranford" by Elizabeth Gaskell, a lovely hot water bottle of a book. I didn't see the TV series so had to do a spot of research to find out who played Peter! Fortunately he lent himself very nicely to an extra clue.

Would your young lady's plight be anything to do with her being far from the madding crowd?

llandb, I have to beg another clue too, please.

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/05/2009 13:59

llandb, sounds rather post-apocalyptic....are you Legend, by any chance?

Meanwhile AIBU because I think I ought to be going to school, not teaching it?

Pogleswood · 01/05/2009 14:00

No,the problem is more that I find I have a lot in common with each, but in different ways. One shares my love of outdoor pursuits, but is a total b in other ways...as is my uncle...

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/05/2009 14:03

Pogle, are you in a cold climate?

Pogleswood · 01/05/2009 14:18

Nope, not in a cold climate either!Young man number 2 is lovely - loathes outdoor pursuits though - he is much more modern.
(must go and do minimum of housework before school run - back later!)

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/05/2009 14:19

Ditto!

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/05/2009 17:07

Pogle, are you, young man number 1 and b uncle keen on horses?

Poledra · 01/05/2009 17:12

Poo, I get one and Moomin gets in there before me!!

Moomin, does your Pa play the fiddle?

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/05/2009 17:18

Hi Poledra, when not incapacitated by prairie blizzards, my Pa is a whizz on the fiddle!

Are you ever going to tell us yours ? I don't think I will ever get it, even if you summarise the whole plot.

Poledra · 01/05/2009 17:25

D'ya know, I had forgotten about mine! If I summarised the plot anymore, it would spoil the book if you wanted to read it so I'll tell you it's Complicity by Ian Banks - I thought it wouldn't be too difficult as someone else had just done The Wasp Factory so it seemed fairly straightforward to me.

llandb · 01/05/2009 17:26

Humph, housework ought to be banned.

Pogle, I'm sure I'd be able to work out exactly who you are if only you'd tell us the title and character's name

Moomin', another clue, please?

I'm afraid I'm more at the other end of the civilisation timeline. I am very fond of babies; or at least, am kind to them and know just how to make them happy.

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/05/2009 17:32

I will give him another go then. I didn't much like The Wasp Factory ...

And while we're waiting for Pogle to tell us whether she's called Christina...

AIBU to worry about my youngest son? He has been acting rather strangely since his 11th birthday.

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/05/2009 17:36

llandb, or house elves ought to be real! Now, I am seriously baffled by yours.

Poledra can tell you, but let's say we're pioneers in our field, or rather prairie.

Poledra · 01/05/2009 17:41

Just as an aside, was anyone really disappointed by Flambards Divided? I soooo didn't want her to end up with Mark - mind you I suppose some of the class difficulties she and Dick had went over my head when I was 12

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/05/2009 17:48

Oh, I wouldn't touch Mark with a bargepole! Dick was lovely. "Flambards Divided" is definitely a candidate for the Jasper Fforde treatment.

Are they still in print? I think you should save them for your DD if you can get hold of them. Or lend them to mine, aged 10, in the meantime!

Stayingsunnygirl · 01/05/2009 17:55

Moomin - do you have sisters called Carrie and Grace, and are you going to become a teacher?

Pogleswood · 01/05/2009 17:56

Hi all! Actually Dick really, really annoyed me and I was quite happy for her to end up with Mark - they were well suited. But Will was the best...sniff (my name is Christina ,of course!) Poledra, buy the books for yourself, who knows when DD1 will want to read them
Moomin,have you been having a lot of snow?Is it,perhaps,getting a bit dark?

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/05/2009 18:01

Hi Sunny, yes, and a sister called Mary. The teaching bit is true too, sadly, but hopefully a nice young man will sweep me off my feet and rescue me (to a life on the farm )

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/05/2009 18:03

Yes Pogle, Will was best of all!

And there has been an awful lot of snow, and my youngest is wearing some very peculiar ornaments...

Poledra · 01/05/2009 18:12

Well, yes, obviously Will was the best!!
